Purple haze ,dark star condor are my best heat tolerant variety’s I live in the desert southern Cali way way more intense than where this guys from and they handle it nicely and the cold resistant dragons he’s talking about u can easily get because they will thrive in your grow zone , a lot of people keep saying ell grullo is cold tolerant obviously don’t live in a here where it gets really cold environment I left my elgrullo outisd one night In 33 degree weather heavy wind forgot about it and bomb got soft and soggy inter all disease spread all around the plant from head to toe simply all dragon fruits can not live outside year round anywhere where you see cold on mountains in the distance try it if you have temperature where you get a constant 1-3 months of 40 degreee weather that dips into the mid 30s not even below 32 34 defreees for more than 1 month is enough to kill your whole crop they do not not not absolutely not like the cold people say they can handle this that yea if you wanna set back your whole fruiting season leave them outside I have to move mines insides the garage for 6 months they need 50 and above to stay happy 40 and below is a no go for a long period of time these guys say well mines is in 40 all winter yea man your also living in sunny San Diego or La where your winter daytime temp is in the 60s lol try your day time temps to be 40s and your nights to be 30s ain’t happening high desert is seroious no grow zone year 3 still only had 3 flowers to my name all aborted im doing so good on all my plants just a hard reigon to grow it in Mojave desert 3 hours from Vegas 1:30 from los angels about 2 from San Diego high desert California oak hills to be precise it’s intense sun and intense cold I’m trying my best but you can get any variety’s remember dragon fruit in nature grows under shaded trees in rain forest they are not native full sun planted trees they climb for the sun then fruits when it gets an abundance of it so not all dragon friots like full sun keep that in mind but purple have sugar dragon , dark star , and all the ones that have the white coating that grow on them as a sun screen those do good too

Great video. I also have a question, what is the difference between Hylocereus and Selenicereus?
