Cid never reveals his intentions, so what that naturally results in is misunderstandings. You can only really interpret his thoughts through his actions, and since his actions coincidentally end up in him taking down Diablos so often and helping Shadow Garden, they get the mistaken impression that he cares deeply for them.
Ed, found this 10/10 in another comment section regarding the things most everyone finds 'cringy' about Cid, finally putting my own feelings into words: " The reason you find it funny or cringy, isn't because it inherently is like that but because of pre-established norms about anime tropes and clichés. So whatever we find funny or cringy, is not funny or cringy at all to any of the characters in the show, even Cid, mind you. And that's something people don't seem to get. Cid wouldn't be able to get where he is if he found what he did as "funny" or "cringy". He is far past the chuuni phase. He found the truth about what everyone calls "chuunibyou" and graduated the school of art when he was enlightened about why people go through this phase exactly. So when people call him a Chuunibyou, it's not quite accurate. Because yes, we find some of his stuff cringy, but what makes him different from every other chuunibyou is that everyone else is just a greenie freshman in the art of chuunibyou and only repeat what they were taught to be cool, and don't actually understand the weight behind them. Kageno Minoru, on the other hand, is an experienced veteran who mastered the art, and knows basically everything about the art of edge, to the point that his way of setting things up is pathological and in the realms of demented. The first episode of season 1 should give you a good idea why, he is extremely good at deceiving people into thinking he's weak, and then obliterating them both mentally and physically when they least suspect and when they are in the most confused mindsets. If it was anybody else, they wouldn't be able to fool the Soldier guy. He went through extremely specific sequences of actions to make sure the soldier is completely off his stride when Minoru decides to counter him with full power. " Key words: enlightened, weight, edge, pathological, demented, deceiving, obliterating, confused, specific, completely This also makes me realize that it's this darker part of him that Alexia could actually see through his mob character. Also, possibly method acting to the point that his own thoughts sound stupid to us and make us underestimate him, too... and we do. 😱
I have a stupid theory about this series. Shadow is the one who inspired the young Kageno Minoru to become The Eminence in Shadow but because he was young he doesn't remember it. He trained his skills as Minoru and gets killed by the truck gets reborn as Shadow and become the Eminence he always wanted to become goes to inspire his child self and live in an infinite loop being the Eminence in Shadow 😅😅
Love your reactions caught this one live. I can’t wait for the next episode! episode 8 is supposed to be anime original content according to the teaser trailer. It’s a degenerate beach episode made by the author for the anime can’t wait.
he just has to ask, he could have whatever he wanted from Shadow Garden. But no, he has to amass it himself, because I don't think he realizes they would do it for him.
What if the final line of the eminence in shadow, was a god or a higher being just asking if he had fun, or enjoyed his time or even has felt like he reached his goal
Is it possible that he has a split personality, and his other half plans and understands everything? Look at the letter that he wrote, he only noted some random words and suddenly there's a letter explaining everything.
He wrote his plan and gave it to Beta just to look cool infront of her. He never expect Beta to decode or decipher the meaning. He doesn't know that she was capable of doing so through Eta. Eta decipher the meaning and adding with Beta who always like to exaggerate things. You kind get a gist of it.
I am suggesting Ed to read the manga cause it goes different than anime and showss a different kind of over-the-toover-the-topp joke. You might enjoy it.
I was considering lately what would make Cid realise that life is serious shit, that it's not a game, Diablos Cult exist, that human life has a value etc? Death of Alpha? Would he care enough? Or he is simply too out of touch to be ever recovered?

He does care about them, no? He just cares about the girls, not the Shadow Garden as an organization.
Miscommunication has evolved into Rizzcommunication
i had an epiphany! being an eminence in the shadow means being mr. bean! how could i have possibly been so blind.

I heard it is a setting from an event in it's gacha game. Not fully sure though since i have not played it.
@@RizalBoon I think it uses some outfits from the game but the trailer doesn’t mention the game just saying it’s anime og
If Rudy had left Eris, I wonder how many people Eris would have mowed down.
I enjoyed seeing you enjoy this episode so much haha 😂
This is my favourite episode of season 2

Ed are you ever going to continue Season 2,3, and 4 of Overlord?
If it wins a poll for anime to be watched then yes but people need to vote for it
Shadow sama by beloved
Trust the plan!
