  • In this episode, Jack Beck defines the seven qualities of a physical wilderness, from how vast and rugged it is to the fact that it has no borders.
    ABOUT THIS SERIES:
“Wilderness is not just an ecosystem-it’s a season of life.” - Jack Beck
Some of the Bible’s most familiar and powerful stories took place in the wilderness. The Israelites spent forty years in the wilderness. Jesus fasted in the wilderness for forty days, before He was tempted by Satan. Even the beloved “Shepherd Psalm,” Psalm 23, may have been inspired by the wilderness. In fact, the wilderness is mentioned more than three hundred times in Scripture.
Now, host Jack Beck ("The Holy Land: Connecting The Land With It's Stories") highlights the easily-overlooked truths of the wilderness-both the harsh, threatening ecosystem in which Bible people sometimes found themselves and the difficult seasons of life in which we often operate. By showing what the wilderness meant to people in Bible times, Jack also provides guidance for our own experience in barren times and places.
In "Land without Borders", Jack Beck will lead you on a journey of discovery, using the Bible’s physical landscape to heighten your spiritual experience.

I grew up on the ODB devotionals--I still use them-I am 62 now. I was thrilled to find them on TH-cam!!! I love the "series" you put out--I realize they cost to make and gladly donate what I am able to--I have been disabled for 38 years. I have now been home bound for just over 4 years. Lupus. I would not do well in the Wilderness!! I so enjoy Jack Beck explaining in detail the where and the why--it makes it all come alive in the scriptures!!! Thank you so much!!!! Folks were vert tough back in the Bible times--to walk so far in their everyday lives!!!!

Betsy Hall, you are in a different wilderness but make no mistake, God has allowed wilderness to happen to you. I am in my own wilderness this last 3 years and deep wilderness since Jan. 1. The best thing I can say is He has never been so obviously with me as this last 2 & months. Lord, I seek renewal in Betsy Hall. Daily filling her with Your Holy Spirit within her, please. Clear her ears to hear and her eyes to see Your Way as plain as daylight, amen.
