I’d love to science the heck out of the Light 1 group. I friggin love testing out makeup, and right now that I’m on summer break (10 years teaching), I can get away with a wear test without students calling me out on looking like crap if it turns out not to work for me. I’m with you. I didn’t experience the granule issue, but on my dry skin I didn’t feel it lasted well at all, only about 5-6 hours and then it just didn’t look nice and fresh like it did upon first application. I do however, really like the skin smoothing primer. It seems like the reviews for this foundation are all over the place and the only way to know for sure if it’s for you is just to try it. I Love love. Cover girl foundation. I have dry skin and start my day at 7 am and don’t usually remove my makeup til 8 pm and it just looks great. I’ve even gone to parties in the evening and I get compliments all the time. I’m 64 years old and it doesn’t settle in my wrinkles. I have tried many high end foundations but I always come back to Covergirl.

I’ve seen some with oily skin like it so it could be a climate issue. Or it might work better when our skin isn’t producing quite as much oil. 😘
I was so excited to see reviews on this, but then I realized that it contains talc, like so many Cover Girl products do, and that makes it a automatic no go for me. I’m allergic to talc, it breaks me out horribly. 😥

Cubby Levi I’m not sure, I know there are other foundations that people love which contain talc, and they don’t have the grittiness problem. I just know that I can’t use any product that contains talc, and it really sucks! 😕

For some reason I felt like this looked a bit patchy and chalky on you. You have great skin and this the first time I've seen it not look perfect in one of your foundation videos. Great review! I saw another youtubers review and she also had issues with the white dots. It’s weird. Maybe it’s some type of oil absorbing ingredient?

Omg yes the foundation has specs in it when I use it too! I was relieved to see it wasnt just me lol it's so weird. Maybe it's some sort of mattifying ingredient? Either way it has to be a quality control issue. Love your channel!😘😘

oh my god i'm so glad i watched this video. i got this foundation a few days ago and tried it and i got the same little sand particles! i thought it was because i was using a sponge that i don't like.... now i know i'm not crazy!

What sponge did you use? I love their “clean matte B.B.” but it has a gritty feel too! I put it in with a brush so my fingers don’t feel it. They aren’t visible and the wear is so nice for my oily combo skin in Oklahoma humidity.
A Beauty Blender sponge. I don't have a gritty feel to my clean matte BB cream. Strange! It's a great foundation though!

Yeah...I held off initially bc it didn't seem like one that was going to work for me based on what I was seeing. Sometimes I get a gut feel and go with it b/c I try to spend wisely on things I think will really work for me. Other times, I'll try if I think they may work. But I had tried other similar foundations that I felt were good and didn't get a good vibe for my skin type! Thanks Jessica!
There are other reviews who hace spoken about the white specs as well!! Hmmmm not sure why but seems like a hit or miss
On another note i absolutely love your channel!!! I def look to you for your input on products because if it works for you it usually works for me even though i have dry skin. THANK YOU for doing such a thorough job on road tests

The light category would work for me. If the shade works for you, it will for me also since I can wear the same shades as you do in other foundations. Doesn't sound like it would be a repurchase though!

Those little dots, or lumps, from that foundation: quite a few other people have mentioned that phenomen.. I also noticed it and thought it might be talc, bc that's one of the ingredients..The manufacturers must have put too much in each ounce of product.

I found a dead one this a.m. They are a part of LA/TX life, and the fact they fly is the worst aspect!
since this is an urban decay liner i assumed they named it roach as that term is used for the end of a joint (marijuana.) i could be wrong.
I am sure that is what they intended w/ the name, but because of where I live, I automatically think of the giant flying tree roaches.

I am suddenly having issues with being too... uh, dewy isn't the word I'm looking for. Straight up greasy? Yeah, that's about it. So I'm starting to look back at matte foundations to try right now and I'd loooove to be able to try using a self setting foundation that doesn't require powder, so I can just powder my t-zone like i see so many youtubers do. *I* want to do that! But I can't because then I look a greasy mess.
😂at "straight up greasy"! Girl, I can't just powder my t-zone no matter what foundation I use. I think you'll find that with most of us oil or combo girls. Sometimes it's a preventative or a just-in-case measure. But better safe than sorry!

Light 1 would work best for me. And if I can't use it, most likely one of my daughters can. ☺ I wonder what the white spots are, just something in the formulation? Forgot to add lly324 on IG, just in case!
I got mine from amazon as soon as it came out and I got those little white flecks all over too. Unblended/unmixed pigment maybe? That turned me off. I took a dense brush to flick them off and wore it the rest of the day. Within 2 hours it had oxidized on me and was darker and a bit orange. I got a refund from amazon. Big nope on this one!
I think those white things are small clumps of the TALC which they put into it.😨😯😄

Great review, as always;) I generally gravitate towards natural/satin to dewy foundations and tinted moisturizers, but an always on the lookout for a matte that would work for me. Omg. Even after watching this video, I thought, eh, how bad can it be?? Uh, yeah.....not only did I get the white specks all over my face, it immediately started separating. I had to wash it off, and the expensive skin care under it 😡, and chunked it in the garbage. I should have listened to you and went with my gut. 😂😂. At least it didn’t cost me a fortune.

What is your take on these stick foundations? Drug store brands.
So far I’ve found exactly one stick foundation to work for me ever, and that’s Tarte’s. I haven’t tried the new ones but I’m hesitant for that reason! I’m always optimistic and always disappointed! Lol!
I thought about trying the new maybelline stick foundation, but there is so little product in it that if you added up the amount to what is in say, an hour glass stick, you’d be paying the same price. 🤷🏼♀️

I have NEVER been this deep in a shade range. Usually I'm the first-third shade. At Walmart, I thought L60 or L90 but I ended up not picking up because I hadn't seen reviews that went on multiple days of wear. So thank you
This goes on better with a brush.
I apply in different methods during all my road tests...a sponge, a brush, etc. I usually show one method of application for time's sake. My summary is an overall.

I didn't like it. It sucked for me. I miss the Katy Perry foundation that she promoted called Ready Set. It cake in a pink and white bottle. And before that it came in a green bottle that Taylor Swift promoted. Why did they discontinue the stuff I really liked. 😒😥
I feel like companies always change or discontinue the good things. Why?! 😘
