    A good way to use excess ethernet cables for simple, inexpensive antennas. In my case, I use old cable to make ground radials for vertical antennas. It's like getting new antennas for next to nothiong in cost. Great project!

      Almir!! Wooohooo so great to hear from you mate! The Ethernet cable is the greatest mate! I tell ya - if I was lost on an island, all I would want for an antenna is ethernet cable! Happy building my friend, and I can't wait to see what you come up with. Cheers buddy.

      hahahaha, you're the best Steve! It's kinder on the teeth than fishing line, as long as you don't bite the copper wire bit, hahaha. Ok wire strippers next time buddy I promise, and I'll turn OFF the TX on the radio when touching the wire hahaha. Cheers my friend. Thanks for everything Steve

    If SWR was 1:1 at 10 meters, that should mean that all power gets radiated as RF energy. Yet the antenna clearly got hot enough to burn fingers, presumably due to wire resistance. Thicker wires might be the way forward with this concept!

    I’m curious what kind of power that can handle.

    • @thehamjazz

      Hey Tony, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I run 100W through that wire. To be honest mate, if you have it totally resonant, I think you could run 200W through it. I never have problems with 100W. Happy building mate. Cheers!

    • @TonyYarusso
      @TonyYarusso 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thehamjazz Wow. I definitely would have guessed something under 100W for how small that stuff is! You’re giving me ideas for investigating what you could do with them multi-band still inside the jacket for tidiness.

    • @thehamjazz
      @thehamjazz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TonyYarusso Hey buddy, thanks for your comment. The issue you will find with the wires inside the jacket is that there will be more capacitive coupling affect - meaning the wires will kind of cancel each other out, and it will act more like '1' wire - but hey, go for it and try. That's what this fabulous hobby is all about. Happy building mate! cheers

    My 80.40.20 Meter Antenna Is In Attic, 3th Floor Attic, Splits In The Middle Of The House, Inside The House Its A Thich Braided Solid Copper Wire, 12 Lines Of Thick Copper Lines Twisted Together, At The End Of Each Pole Wich Is 400CM Is A Solid Copper Lugs , then at the logs there are same thickness wire, BUT not braided, but solid wire that goes oout of te attic to my property fencing, one side is grounded, otehr is not, so the grounded one i use as minus and the other as conductor, works good, at nights i can get whole Russia, Asia, Europe, Sometimes Even North America And Other Countries That Ar That Far. :)

    So, you did this so fast it’s confusing. When you say multiband I’m assuming the lowest band you can use with 17 ft of wire is 20m. I’m not understanding the looping on the radiating element. Seems you’re looping and twisting at the highest band for 10m with 6-8 ft then adjusting the feedpoint to tune. You only show 10 and 12m but then xmit on 20m. What adjustments did you have to do to tune on 20m? Do you have to lower the pole and untwist the radiator? Or, are you suggesting the loops are radiating??
