  • In this video, I take my classic thorough look at the Exway Atlas Pro, Gear Drive edition. This board is awesome! It's got almost everything you could want, but has a couple things to improve on. I've put a ton of work into this video, so I hope you will all check out the detailed performance data and scoring!
    The Atlas Pro is Exway's most powerful board to-date, and while I only have the 2wd version, it's quite peppy and offers a lot of positive aspects. It's got a comfy ride with the 7 inch tires and foam grip tape, super durable gear drives that sound awesome, and a great carbon fiber deck. The battery range is a bit average, but if you need more range, you can always upgrade to the Aux Pack! Check out my installation video for that here: • How To: Installing the...
    I took a lot of time and did performance testing for all of the Exway boards I've got, and I must say, I was quite impressed with the performance of the Atlas Pro, coming in at the highest I've tested to-date. I think that will change in the future, but it's quite a fun package!
    The gear drives on the Atlas Pro are super well built, but heavy. They've got a gear ratio of 12:57, and are made with helical cut steel gears. After over 200 miles of riding, I opened it up, and it appeared to be in perfect shape. Exway Ace Labs have done a great job with the design of these drives, and I think they will last for many thousands of miles.

    Great work on the review. I can’t imagine how much effort goes into doing these.

    the torque tests are amazing! No more 3500watt motor numbers from manufactures which is probably not realistic. I love the real world tests, thank you so much!

    • @RBEMotion
      @RBEMotion  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I think they are super valuable too. I am trying to think of a better way to test the more powerful boards though. Maybe something that can attach directly to the wheel, rather than having to pull. VESC boards don't like the torque test very much, they tend to jump a bit. Was pretty sketchy when I tested my raceboard lol

    Such a good video!
    I was searching for your Review datas from different boards, Nm and so on, but i cannot find anything :(
    May you have tested the acedeck ares x1 with the same system?
    Greetings from Austria:D

      Thanks for watching! I'm glad you found the data cool. I have not tested that board at this time, but I've been working with Acedeck on some other things so I may be able to test some of their boards in the future. It does take quite a bit of time to properly do all of the testing. Eventually, I plan to host it on my website similar to how Skatemetric did before.

    Thank you for all the efforts taken to make the videos and going into so much details. Question: Why gear drives don't have street wheels compatibility and is each manufacturer's gear drives specific to them or are they all similar? 🤔

    • @RBEMotion
      @RBEMotion  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching! There are a couple gear drives out there that have street wheel compatibility, but usually they're a lot smaller, and you wouldn't want to use them with pneumatic wheels, since the ratio would be so small. As for the other part, yeah, usually manufacturers have unique gear drive mounting. It's pretty annoying if you're looking to switch wheels between brands. In the DIY world, most pneumatic gear drives try to adhere to the MBS or Trampa wheel patterns.

    range tests are equal rider weight from board to board? what was mileage when you grabbed the extra gear?

    • @RBEMotion
      @RBEMotion  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah the range tests are equal weight, plus or minus whatever the day is. The mileage when I grabbed the year was on the 2nd lap, so somewhere around 14 miles. I wish I didn't have to pick up extra weight at the end, but it's the only good way for me to do it haha

    There are Samsung 40t cells. And it can handle 6 amps per cell for default according to datasheet. I disassembled battery pack by myself and check it out. So 20a fast charge is OK! And about ESC. U should update firmware, because it was jerky and unstable on max speed, but it was fixed now.

    • @RBEMotion
      @RBEMotion  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was told that mine had Lishen cells in it, not 40T. As for charging, the MFG sheets are not always the best thing to go by because they're all controlled temperature numbers. Especially when you use the fast charger after riding on the board, the cells may already be hot. Firmware should be latest version, I didn't have that jerky and unstable issue before I don't think.

    Was it 19 miles going almost full speed or it was going normal speed?

    • @RBEMotion
      @RBEMotion  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The 19 miles was traveling at my standard paces that I use for my testing videos. First 1/3 of route between 15 and 20 mph, second third at 20-25 and final third again at 15-20. I do this repeatedly until the battery is dead. The route that I use is about 7 miles

    You should buy the front motor trucks to turn it into the 4wd setup

    • @RBEMotion
      @RBEMotion  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not a bad idea, it would be interesting to compare between 2wd and 4wd performance. Maybe in the future Exway would like to sponsor something like that.

    Is this geardrive quieter than belt drive?

    • @RBEMotion
      @RBEMotion  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly, sometimes I think it is. It depends on the speed you're riding at, but it's definitley quieter than lacroix and some other belt drives.

      I don't think the angle of the drives would work out if you were to do that. Maybe its possible but I'm doubtful. Have you tried it?
