being a wood worker and furniture maker i stumped across the Duran's videos over a year ago and i have been making all sorts of crazy and super cool props. they help expand my thinking. learns a ridiculous amount of info from these two. Changed everything on how i build things now. totally addicted.
Just bought your first foam smith book and it is so awesome! I have learned so much from you and I'm mot even a cosplayer. But I am an artist involved in making costumes and props for a local ballet. You've really entertained me through a lot of weeks of a complicated wing and headpiece project. Plus I now have a lot of ideas of what is possible for the future. You guys are awesome!
I love this channel so much. Started making costumes about three years ago and I can say I've learned so much from channels like yours. Like Andrew DFT or Evil Ted. Thanks so much for putting time and effort into these videos, hopefully one day I can be able to make props and costumes like you guys :D
I started really watching you guys about a week ago, and I'm hooked. I love your format and techniques and you inspired me to be more ambitious in my projects. Thank you!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS CHANNEL. I've been looking for a channel to help me with my projects for so long and I'm so happy to finally find one.
You and Britt are doing so well with these tutorials and videos. Thanks for all the hard work. I'm almost finished with my first ever EVA prop. :) Can't wait to show it off at HeroesCon.
This is so awesome to come back to in case of confusion when building my cosplay. I'm currently working on the biggest cosplay I've ever attempted to build, The NC max suit from planetside 2. The size is freaking huge so it'll take me some time to finish it. But it's always good to come back to your channel for tips
Thank you so much for sharing your content with us, you've taught me so much, and my cosplay career has grown a lot because of it. Just thank you guys so much ;u;
Hey Bill I'm not new to your channel but my son and I are new to cosplay and we love your videos and evil Ted videos too you guys have given us hope on being able to make some costumes and props thanks again and keep up the great work
I just recently found this channel due to my interest in doing cosplay. I'm loving the tutorials so far. Do you have any advice on how to put LED lights in masks/costumes/props? The prop I'm trying to create is a gun that has a flashing LED light on the side of it.
A heartfelt "thank you" for making all your knowledge available for us to learn new tips, tricks and even skills! I am brand new to EVA foam and crafting and I have used things I learned from your videos (as well as Evil Ted and Andrew DFT) to create some Halo prop weapons for my kids, several props for musical theater shows I have been in and I am currently building a Shore Trooper costume for this upcoming Halloween. The helmet is 99% finished (all EVA foam) and I just completed the E-22 blaster (made from PVC pipe, EVA foam, some small pieces of cardboard and a couple 3d printed parts.) Up next is the Shore Trooper armor! These builds have been extremely enjoyable - especially since I have learned how to do things correctly and efficiently due to the invaluable information you have shared in these videos. Again, thank you so much! I look forward to seeing the new videos pop up on my computer every so often! :-)
Thank you for your awesome videos Senpai ! Been watching the molding & casting playlist a lot, getting myself ready for the day I'll do silicon molds. And the Firefly gun was of great help for the build of my Westar 35 (Star Wars blaster). Need to paint it now (and finish the Firefly gun too !)
Ive been having the hardest time completing and actually realizing a prop or costume, but ever since you said: "Dont worry about specs, We`re not building rockets here" for some reason it stuck with me. Now i just go for it! I should have a prop weapon and costume ready for MTL comiccon!
This is awsome!!! Actually i have some thing to ask. What if I want to build the musical instrument prop, Biwa, from Heike Monogatari. Which type of material is suite for this and also with in budget.
Hi bill ! You and Britt are great at what you do and really have inspired me to build some stuff !!! ... I hope I can meet you at a con some day :D ( tried it a few years ago at SDCC but failed haha).
thank you for the awesome video and all the time and effort you put into these videos! I remember watching one of your videos and I'm having trouble narrowing it down to which one, but in the video you talked about the Eva foam you use and the kind you buy is smooth on both sides. Where is it that you get that foam?
I just want to say how much I appreciate the content the two of you put up online. I've learned so much from your videos and owe a lot of my skills to both of you. Thank you for being so awesome and helpful! Love Dan. =^.^=
On weekend I pronted Rey's blaster(in Pink). Spent night sanding it. Just spend nigth sanding it, I feel that I stepped into rabbit hole. And I blame you, mr.Doran!! Thank you for the content you've provided.
Do you have any beginner-friendly tutorials regarding masks? I want to build one, but have no clue if I should be using EVA foam, clay or something completely different..
I am enjoying watching your videos. I was wondering if there was anyone on youtube to help with clothing cosplays as I want to make my own vault suit. I will be using your melee weapons video to help make my own. :)
I would like to say, that I really enjoy your videos and you are partly the reason why I am starting my own projects. with that said, I would like to know is it too ambitious to try a destiny and rwby project? I want to teach my daughter (who has an interest) in how to do this kind of thing. so I came up with the idea of a destiny Hunter for me, and my daughter want to do Ruby from the anime rwby. your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. thanks
hey Bill, how do i make a blueprint with inkscape or paint.net if i cant get a good look at the armor/weapon, in destiny 2 you dont have the option to turn the weapons around to see it from side and front and etc, you just get a good looking angle so you can see both front and side but i need a full side view. i want to make the sunshot from destiny 2 for example...:D thanks

I had the idea to buy a nerf gun and paint it but I thought it was lazy so I was watching videos on how to make props and I’m glad other people had the same idea and I don’t feel lazy anymore. Thank you
Oh yeah, tons of people like modding things like this! It's a whole community! No such thing as laziness in crafting! Just the way you like to do it best :)
Thanks for letting us know you're interested in that build! We have our current schedule worked out, but there could be room for this kind of video in future plans.
We smeared a bunch of Goo on my friends face....sounds so, so wrong when you are listening with the page minimized lol! Seriously though I recommend you tutorials to anyone into props and costume making. Hell even if they aren't I point them your way as the items you all create are fantastic.
You can make him using all the techniques we show in our videos! Check out our Beginner Content playlist to see videos about pattern making, construction, and different methods of painting! You can do it! th-cam.com/play/PL6q0fd3ileWIRIRih1fdeo2-n6Uu6S3yJ.html

Do you think you could make a music prop? Such as a guitar, possibly with LEDs in it or maybe even a small sound button?
Sorry we aren't planning on doing any builds like that right now.
ah too bad. Oh well at least you let me know unlike many other channels. Thanks! :)
What prop did you have in mind?
This is awsome!!! Actually i have some thing to ask. What if I want to build the musical instrument prop, Biwa, from Heike Monogatari. Which type of material is suite for this and also with in budget.
