"We're changing the way we reach Net Zero by 2050 to ease the burden on working people.
Our new approach will be pragmatic, proportionate and realistic - because the UK is already so far ahead of every other country in the world.
Here are the facts
We’ve had the fastest reduction in emissions in the G7.
Because of this progress, the UK’s share of global emissions is now less than 1%.
As we continue to cut emissions, we also need to make sure we do not lose the consent of the British people facing higher living costs.
The UK is a world leader in cutting emissions, surpassing the targets most countries have set for 2030 including Australia, Canada, Japan and the US.
We have overdelivered on all our targets to date.
Given all this, it cannot be right for Westminster to impose unnecessary costs on working people.
So we’re easing the burden, including extending the deadline on the ban of the sale of petrol and diesel cars by 5 years - in line with countries like France and Germany.
This won’t change any of our upcoming emissions targets.
The UK will continue to meet our international agreements including the critical promises in Paris and Glasgow to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees.
I care about reaching Net Zero by 2050 but on the current path, we risk losing the consent of British people.
No one has yet had the courage to look people in the eye and explain what’s really involved.
That’s wrong, and it changes with this new approach to meeting Net Zero."

The sun emits many gasses including carbon. So what was the cause of global warming that spelled the end of the so called Ice-Age; where a lot of the ice covering the earth, melted away leaving the north and south Ice caps? That is, apart from the top of high mountains?

We have the lowest corporation tax in the G20 other than Singapore, stop talking crap! You don't pay corporation tax on a wage bill, you don't pay corporation tax and income tax on the same income. Corporation tax is on profit and impacts shareholders not employees.
