The Appeal to Heaven flag was designed by Colonel Joseph Reed, who served as the personal secretary to George Washington. Originally commissioned for use on six military cruiser ships, the flag was adopted on October 21, 1775. It became the official Massachusetts navy flag in 1776.
Washington's secretary chose a simple yet impactful design featuring a singular pine tree, a symbol of strength and resiliency within the New England states. The words “An Appeal to Heaven" stretch atop a white field, boldly proclaiming an appeal to God to save the colonists from the King's oppressive ruling.

Because I am a strong conservative ,criticizing ANY public SERVANT and even USSC justices are public SERVANTS, is protected speech as there is NO such exception for USSC judges in the 1st Amendment and there are NO exceptions in any subsequent Amendments which are the ONLY legal way to alter our Bill of Rights. Anything, other than an Amendment, which alters our Bill of Rights is by definition, UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Alito is 100% wrong on this issue.

Not by a fellow sitting jurist. By definition this is a political act insodoing and is inflaming a lack of collegiality and *RESPECT* that is *ESSENTIAL* for the smooth and orderly functioning of our *FEDERAL* Judiciary. We have higher standards for said level of polity and this is reflected in their *PAY AND BENEFITS* I might add. If a removal from the Bench is what is called for in such a matter for failing to recognize this so be it😊😊

@@georgedoolittle9015 These are mere public SERVANTS. Stop the insanity of making them Kings, Queens with special rights. In fact a seat on the USSC, for any HONEST person, aka not a former lawyer, should be the easiest job in the Federal government. They have a centuries old, very short, by today's standards, rule book and their ONLY job is to make sure the very short, well known laws and rights are supported and defended according to OUR Constitution and Bill of Rights. We were to never have people of Titles [the original but never passed 13th amendment would have banned people of title]. They are our SERVANTS and must be subservient to OUR Constitution. If they violate their oath then they certainly MUST be called out for failing to obey their oath.
Thanks to those who surrender our rights to our public servants, we now have a 2nd Amendment which varies state to state and even though it is perfectly clear it is not to be INFRINGED, it is INFRINGED upon on a daily basis. Such is the dishonest of the legal profession. The ONLY legal way to alter the Constitution or Bill of Rights is via the Amendment process.
But again thanks to those who surrender our rights, unconstitutionally, the right to FREE SPEECH now is subject to interpretation by America's most dishonest and despicable professionals, lawyers, lawyer/politicians, lawyer/judges.
If the USSC was filled with people of character and honesty, loyal to the oath they took, we would not have people on the bench who could not define a woman. We would not have discussions about men in woman's sports. We would have prisons filled with government officials, elected, appointed, hired who dared to obstruct OUR government from performing one of it's few Constitutionally MANDATED functions: "Protecting our Borders". That is how despicable the USSC has become. If these were good people most decisions would be 9-0, 8-1, or the very rare 7-2.
