This series of amazing radio shows started on my birthday when I was 10 years old (January 6th, 1974). I listened up through my 18th year when they were taken off the air. Great memories.

I agree. I have an area with an old fashioned looking radio that plays regular stations. But what I do is I set my iPhone speaker behind it and I play these. I make it all cozy with candles and good snacks. It's a place I can go to besides television. I found long ago that there was nothing satisfying and smoking for something to do as many other things. I have turned people on to listening to the radio with me and they love it. Now I have a popcorn machine and louder speakers and I put the speakers on the windowsill and the apartment complex listens to it. There are many elderly people who enjoy. I also discovered Unshackled by Pacific Garden missions. This is an extra treat. Because they are based on true success stories of people like you or I. I also listen to Chuck Missler and so does the neighborhood. I just Googled CBS Radio Mystery Theater and whatever subject is if interest. I'm fascinated with UFOs since they are in the Bible. I'm fascinated with Atlanta type things. And Giants on the Earth. All in the Bible. The most interesting book far better than any Hollywood movies. Those are a few of my favorite things. And good people. And good people that are still fascinated with the Simplicity of the radio. There's comfort in the past

My mom used to play these when I was six (1976) living in Northern California, Napa. I remembered them over the years and when I found them here I literally cried. I listen to them now to fill the quiet times, driving, working but definitely only in the day time. The opening music always creeps me out. Lol...Now I'm 50...where have the years gone? Wish we could have said goodbye mom, wish things could have been different.

Thank You for sharing some of your memories; I have No. Calif. memories of my own, with my grandparents. I miss them terribly, but the memories are so sweet and they truly help me to feel the gratitude.

Your memories sound similar to mine, back in the 70's (I was 10 or so) of when my parents and I would go camping. Only we went in my dad's pick-up with the camper on the back. We'd listen to these stories and sometimes I'd fall asleep before it got to the end. So my parents would fill me in on the ending the next day. Along with outings on our old boat. Dad often let me steer it using the vice grips "handle' on the outboard motor on the back. Such wonderful memories!

I think it is why I listen to them. Even some of the commercials are from radio stations I listened to back then. I miss my family also, and I suppose it is my way of bringing memories of a different, happier time ,back.

Thanks for uploading these. I just subscribed. I remember listening to these at 10 PM at night on the AM radio station in my small rural hometown in Pennsylvania back in the late 1970s. I was just a 10 year old kid then, and these stories were always pretty creepy. I like the fact that the listeners have to use their imaginations. Thanks again!

I wish I had an adorable bat friend.
Some breeds of rats make great pets too if you rear them, they love to hang out in your armpit and they're very affectionate.
