Hello Shawn and of course the team, now I'm a 67 year old man going on 55 🤣😂 and have just found you after playing golf for over 35 yrs now I know I took the game up a little late as I was so into football bye the I'm in the UK southern England, I was carpenter before I retired and so wish I found you many yrs ago as the hammer drill makes complete sense, I've been out there working on the swing you are teaching with the club being closed then setting my stance making the club now square, wow what a difference this has made, the fade / slice has gone and I'm getting many more yards off the teas fantastic, so many many thanks to a great team and keep the good work up as everything you do makes complete sense to me, you have given me so much confidence in my swing, so from a very satisfied subscriber to your channel. Kind regards Glynn
Right on Glynn! So great to have you with us; we have a lot of work to do to help out so many golfers who are lost in the woods with a hornet’s nest of be careful’s over their heads!
After discovering you about 2 months ago I have slowly made my way through your catalogue of videos. Couple of things stand out to me. I like that the students get it "wrong" and you don't edit that out. You show the learning process. I also love how a lot of golfers think that a physical element was wrong like (alignment) but you actually bring it back to more of a psychological fault. That's massive and noone really talks about that. That feeling of "OK, this feels good" will beat any "athletic" set up. Love this
Thanks for the lesson Shawn. It's great seeing our neighbors to the north back out on the golf course. Now I'm looking forward to seeing all of you playing again.
So, I tried everything to help my putting, but your video on alignment completely turned my putting around! I started using the same method on irons and driver before I found this video and it was like a lightbulb went on for me. I'm sure it won't work for everyone but when I set up hard left and adjust until i "see the line" i've seen a huge improvement in ball striking and distance. I have a much higher level of confidence before I pull the trigger now. Love this channel!!
Great lesson, Shawn. Alignment on the tee box is often overlooked and vital to finding the short grass. It would be great to see the outdoors tee shots be traced so we can see curvature and direction of ball flight. Cheers
I found your videos a few years ago and got talk out of trying it out, but I rediscovered them a week or so ago long story short I went to the driving range today and try your tips out I never hit so well before. Was able to draw and fade my shots like never before.not every shot was good but I was able to go back and say throw your club at target and not ball wish I would of done this years ago so a big thank you.
Trusting the process and delivering the ball in the direction you visualize and setup for isn’t easy. This is another great drill to bring all your training together.
I should have watched this before I played that bowling alley yesterday. Drew the ball all day, drew it right into the woods. Feels good knowing I am not defective.
Mille fois merci.
Another great tip from you Shawn. You have demonstrated a simple, and reliable alignment method which works for me right through the bag from putter to driver . Thank you so much.. If "Goldilocks" had played golf I'll bet she would have been brilliant at alignment.
Definitely not surprised when she's all over the places, cuz that's what I did!!!😆😆😆 Transfer from the perfect lie to up n down places on the real course will take some time to settle in. My front 9 could n a mess(45+ish) n back 9 will b in the low 40s, gotta constantly remind me the set up n swing technic thru the round, so tired after a 18 holes round for sure. Good luck to my lefties, love to see a course vlog to show how u manage thru the round
I started playing 5 years ago, a 13 handicapper, had a few lessons over the years, and learned all the wrong things from friends and family. I also watch way too many golf instruction videos, and every time I feel like I’ve got my swing sorted, a new video messes with my mind and my swing is off for months. The only videos I can say 100% improved my game, and gave me the extra 20m-30m I’ve been looking for are yours Shawn, particularly your videos about the the strong grip. Now it’s not perfect yet - today I missed almost every fairway, but still had 36 points, but for the first time ever feel like I’m hitting the ball flush, and even getting a draw on command! I need to hit a few thousand balls on the range to build the muscle memory and get consistency, but this is the best I’ve ever been. Thanks Shawn. Your stuff works.
You really need to put graphic tracks on the ballflight on all the shots. It's really frustrating just to watch your reactions not knowing whats happening. Would be awesome and put the final touch on your great instructional videos 🤗
Great video again!!! If I am using a fade should you aim to the center of the fairway or is it better to aim a little bit to the left as the ball will came back to the right???
Amazing! I keep trying your set up, I keep closing my right shoulder because it feels like I'm going to slice the ball. So, I end up back to the static set up. 😣
Your grip and club face relationship is probably too weak or not closed enough and this causes you to PRE-BAIL on your tee shots! See “weak grip vs strong grip shawn clement” and the “hit a honkin’ draw to hit straight shawn clement”
Count Yogi would stand diagonally with his vision between the ball, and flag, no more than a club length away from the ball and align his shot with the loft line of the club, step in and whack. No time for your side vision to play tricks, just trusting your vision and going with it
Hi Shawn, good to have sometimes a recap on alignement. question concerning your students: are they lefties in their lifes or just for golf ? Thxs for your response
Love your stuff, but this is confusing. Is this technique used in addition to the intermediate target point, or in place of it? I''m having great trouble reconciling it with what you've told us over the years about the shortcomings of our side vision. How is this any different from simply using Goldilocks to rely on our faulty side vision?
One of the techniques we use for putting is this and it is highly effective in HACKING the side vision; and because the side vision in certain golfers is so strong and they still can’t trust the intermediate point, we give them this as an add in exercise to get their vision straight and we complement the intermediate point with it. Dom’t stop using the IP please!!
I'm having serious problem with driver alignment It just feels really awkward especially on those damaged tee boxes Will test this out in the next round
swinging to the target: on the one hand focussing on cutting the dandelion stem and/or on the other hand focussing on the target (“there is your target; not at the ball”); my question is what has the priority (experimentally)?
I noticed that all of you put your driver head a few inches behind the ball at set up. I started fooling around w/ it and it is making a big difference. Instead of those 250 to 260 carries I am getting 280 carries. Even a couple 290's.
Hi Jason! Welcome to the club! See our previous video from last week on our youtube home page which is all about that set up and one of our very first videos of 2007 called “great driver tip shawn clement” is a real “oldie but goodie!”
If you are able to trust it, all the power to you! Like I said at the beginning of the video, golfers line up the way that you say then get beside the ball, hate the way it looks from the side and second guess it immediately. Then the swing is reacting to that MIRAGE and they come right over it and either pull it or slice it off into oblivion. This is from decades of traching full time and a big study on how human eye sight is built.
This is just damn silly! just make an imaginary line between the ball and the point and then align your body (I do shoulders as I may open or close my stance on a given shot) parallel to that line (your side vision is not that far off using such a short line). I tried this (on the range) and it is a disaster. C'mon man...lol

Thank you for the great feedback Andy, really appreciate it!
It’s comforting knowing I’m not the only one who has trouble talking the range to the course ... one day it will all come together
You bet it will! 👍😀

Great video I’m going to watch again because I’m not sure what my alignment should be but thanks for sharing
That's the best tip I've had in years. Thx
Enjoy it! It is a blast to actually know you are aligned properly and can then swing freely!
I see there's a video on "keeping your head down." Guess that's what I watch next, because I was just lookin' Mu eye to eye in his backswing... 🤘🤘

Good content, where's the Rapsodo?

This is why I put some stop actions on all 3 to see the initial ball direction from these; the Rapsodo will be used on the next one for sure!

You are cutting through the stem of the dandelion TOWARDS YOUR TARGET. Must have a direction to your task!
Just line your tee ball to the target same as you should for putting
90 percent of golfers you show that to will not trust it! 😝😝😝
I have to aim for the trees to get the ball on the fairway. This drill only helps if you can hit a straight ball.
Actually, no! It is to aim into your flight plans!!

@@golflessons yeah that is where I got it from, last weeks video. I never really thought of doing that but it has really really helped a lot.
I don't see anyone with that upright of a backswing with the longest club in the bag.
Why not just use the line on your golf ball on the tee like you’re putting. This is making it complicated.
If you are able to trust it, all the power to you! Like I said at the beginning of the video, golfers line up the way that you say then get beside the ball, hate the way it looks from the side and second guess it immediately. Is it just me...anyone else notice her grip? Her left hand was almost under the club. Guess you can't argue with results.
Exactly! Very sound grip anatomically and the choice of so many players on the tour!
