  • Black Panther Systems sent me a synth stand and today we are building a pretty epic synth setup. I don't know how I ended up being a synth stands reviewer, but I have done quite a few videos on stands over the years.

Hi Bo, great Video. The system is great arranged. And how well could the system be put together ? I would like to ask the community in what form they would like to see the assembly instructions ?
    A) Assembly instructions as a video and PDF on a supplied USB stick.
    B) Assembly instructions as video via PDF accessible via QR code on the Internet
    C) Assembly instructions in detail on paper ( and with a QR code )
.. thank you for your comments :-)

Here's what I did to make a pretty original synth stand: I grabbed a TV stand someone tossed, the one that has like 3 long glass tiers. I put it on caster wheels, and then I used metal screws to attach the 3-tiered, adjustable, folding synth rack to it from the back, right to the metal supports of the 3rd tier. It looks like it always belonged there. It's possible to fit 6 keyed synths on it. Or 5 keyboard synths and and leave 1 rack for desktop synths, grooveboxes/samplers/drum machines. I ought to make a video about it soon. One observation I made on your rack is that I would have a real issue with the way the Matriarch is placed, because it appears one needs to stretch one's arms forward in order to play around with control knobs. Elbows aren't resting, - they hang in the air, which puts too much strain on my back. This is the issue I had with some of the previous synth racks, why I had to return them and resort to a DIY like that.

This is the one keyboard stand to invest in for the workspace. The only thing I see would be a bit better with Jaspers stands could possible be that they can hold many synths for a storage solution. But I would never think of using Jaspers stands for an ergonomic solution. And also this is the only keyboard-stand i would trust for my expensive machines to stand safe on.

Hi Bo, great video (like usual ;o) ). I would highly appreciate a new Studio Tour once you`re done.
If I could have another whish I would love to understand how you`re working/liking your mixer setup with the StudioLive as I need to reduce my space by 2/3 and therefore looking for "inspiration" or advice to manage the remaining portion of my synths (but still with +32 channels needed). Maybe you can create another (update)video about the workflow with big amout of channel counts and/or possible benefits between Mixer vs larger scale interface?

Thomann USA, but if you want to order just a small accessory, shipping will be more expensive than the cost of the item. You need to be ordering A LOT of stuff from Thomann to make it cost-effective. I have a Cedro and I absolutely love it.
