I love how resourceful CT is! First he is playing guitar, and then he is drumming on the back of a chair. Freakin' brilliant.

It was in 2008 and at this time they weren't as famous as now in france... but people in the bar seems appreciate an unknown band, that's what matter!

That fact that it's out of tune and the beat gets off a few times adds character. I thing that the Walcott performance, at least, is beautifully done.
I love how the people are like "wtf?" but then they're like "Blake's got a new face!!!"

This is great! so rough and real and it sounds so good. Whomever wants to disect this video and say how his notes are off or any rubbish along that, are indeedly missing out on joy in their life..Brilliant!
I seriously wonder how they do sound on these with the musicians walking around.
This is by far my favourite version of Walcott. I think about the beauty of this video a lot.

This guys whole point in making filming things is to find super unknown bands and film them. He does this lots of bands. I think it makes sense that he would have filmed this before they had an album.

Great set! However, it irks me that the guitar was out of tune.
I can't help but smile watching this.
What I particularly like about this one is that the people in that cafe/bar are actually in to it, there's a lot of these where it seems like people just don't care when they really should, like the Bon Iver one where people are just walking away.

@TurboShorts I didn't insult them. I said they were out of key - and they are. But besides the point, they aren't amazing musicians, so if I WERE insulting their musical abilities I may be pretentious and a jerk, but not incorrect. But I did not insult their musical abilities, I simply assessed what is going on in the video. If I said something judgmental (like the chord progression is sub-par or the way he strums is elementary - I am NOT saying those things though) THEN I would be insulting

the only explanation for me that people don't go absolutely crazy in the videos, after watching all these take-away shows, is that good music hasn't arrived in france yet (i jest, i jest)
To be fair, they didn't know what they were seeing or hearing. In 2008 VW was barely making waves in the US, let alone in France.

the people in that cafe are the luckiest people ever... if i was there i would have got up on a table and started dancing and singing along, and then i wouldn't have let go of them, i would've followed them out in the street ! ; - )

Because people appreciate different types of music and might not recognise them? That's a very narrow way to look at the world.
