I agree and I have been learning, albeit slowly. I actually made a video explaining some basic Egyptian words and phrases for foreigners that may know nothing. I know the alphabet but it takes me ages to decipher a word because the letter change shape depending on if it is initial middle or final or also by itself. Another complication with learning Arabic is the many dialects and how written is different than spoken so Modern Standard Arabic aka Fus7a is written but the words can be different for things than they would be if spoken, as well as the vowels. It's complicated 😆 But I have been learning and am continuing to. Thanks for your input! 🙏

Ohhh wait I see, you are talking about me making it at the end. Yes I could have done that too😅But it's such a small area I think it is mixed better when I shake it. Stirring takes forever
Very good video, we are coming next year from the states & coffee is lifeline 😂 when you say ask the price, is there no price posted for items or does the price get made up on the spot?
Many places there are no prices listed. Even if there are prices listed, it's in Arabic. The numbers are different here. So be aware of that as well 😆But it's always better to ask the price of something before you order it, or get it in (if a taxi). Some very sneaky scammers will say "I was talking about dollars!" at the end (usually taxis or some camel ride type situation) when they were of course talking about Egyptian pounds. Always best to clarify with those situations, or just flat out refuse if they demand any currency other than EGP. Egypt is great you're going to love it! Most people are very kind but you always have to be careful when it comes to certain things so you aren't overcharged
A lot of the states is friendly but here like everywhere else you have scammers too, sounds great, I do see Cairo has Uber, will use that I’m sure, your videos have been very helpful from one Americans perspective to another, the exchange rate is very good, it will be a fantastic trip. Keep up the good work 🙏🏼
@@Otownd12superman Exactly, people are people no matter where you go, both good and bad. Thankfully, the good always outweigh the bad, in my experience. Definitely Ubers are the way to go in Cairo! But I would try to learn the Egyptian numbers (just 0-10) so you can recognize the plate numbers of the Uber drivers. I didn't realize the numbers were different when I first arrived to Egypt and ordered an Uber out of the airport like I normally do around the world (just have to go past the first barriers and Uber is allowed in the parking lot), and then sat waiting in the parking lot forever waiting for him to find me, as I soon realized I couldn't read the license plate numbers here 😆 Now I know.
@@Gventures people there seem friendly and welcoming, I will remember the license plate thing & ask for prices, so much to see and do. I’m hoping the museum is open, have waited for this trip for ever, thanks for the advice 🙏🏼 greatly appreciated!
@@Otownd12superman Yes they really are! Around the tourist sites/areas vendors and other people trying to sell you things can sometimes be unpleasant or downright aggressive, but every day normal people not working in that industry are very kind, hospitable and welcoming. Even the vendors can be nice (I've made friends with a few), but be weary of many of them and their "honesty"; they are after all trying to make money, and them saying "I give you Egyptian price" doesn't mean it actually is 😅 I usually like to joke around with them and treat buying things as a game, don't get angry, instead joke yet be firm with the price you are willing to pay. Egyptians love to laugh, have a great sense of humor and are quite the sarcastic bunch 😆 I hope the museum opens soon too! It has been so very long, everyone is awaiting opening day. Once again appreciate you watching, and if you ever have any questions about anything Egypt related, don't hesitate to ask and I'll do best to give any information I have on it 😊
The first time I went to Egypt in 2011 I KNOW i smoked apple sheesha with the nice big grown up pipe, but in recent years I have noticed too they give those kiddy plastic pipes lol, and I dont like it either!!. This is a mystery to me - also I have heard there is the "grown up" type heavy tobacco that can still have apple flavour (no other fruits tho)??
Stir it, shake it, 1 hand, 2 hands, whatever works. My Egyptian boyfriend showed me the shake method, which apparently nobody does as I have had a wealth of Egyptians basically commenting "wtf are you doing" 🤣
Giselle love your videos. For I am planning a trip to egypt. I am.an American. Maybe you could show me around. I would love to pay you for your services.. ❤
Thanks! And you're going to love Egypt 😁I unfortunately can't show you around, as I have to work. But it's completely safe to explore on your own! Or if you feel uncomfortable, there are many great guides out there 😎
Hello!! It is not honey, it is molasses, people here call it honey because both honey and molasses are called the same, and distinguished by color, we say Black honey for the molasses, and white honey for the usual normal honey, bees honey, both called Assal عسل you can google to check the correct pronunciation So the sheesha tobacco is almost as the gentleman explained but it is molasses not honey
Lol well my bf is the one who told me, he is Egyptian and wasn't making fun of me, he does it this way too. But he also told me people stir it. It's easier for him to shake it though because his hands are bigger so he can do it with one hand. Also lots of Egyptians have commented saying it's weird to shake it, so I know it's not usual to do it this way. Anyway, it got the job done 🤣 But stirring it is easier for me so I do that now
can you do a video on money - Egypt dollars / US dollars for buying small items and tipping - (stuff like if we need Egypt dollars where to pick some up, etc. - thanks
I don't know if I'll make a video about that, but I can answer you right now. First, it's US dollars (USD) and Egyptian pounds (EGP). I would recommend having EGP for almost everything in Egypt. You can pay with card at most hotels and restaurants, but not always. And local cafes, street food, and all tourist markets don't accept cards. I by rule of thumb always pay everything in cash, unless it's an extremely expensive item or meal or or something. You can exchange money at the airport and also at exchange offices in various areas around each city. Tipping depends on the services and if it is local or tourist stuff. Anything regarding tourism people expect tips, local places do not.
Your comment is so lame. Why does anyone care about your opinion or what you prefer. Keep an open mind to a different culture and if you don't like it, keep your pointless opinion to yourself 🤣
Ha. You and everyone else has already said this. Blame my bf, he showed me that way 🤣 I do use a f##kin spoon now and laugh about shaking it. Also I've killed my bf for showing me that way 🤣
Excellent choice of music... Beautiful and classic Oud melody that charms the soul.

Lol what?! NO no do not stir Turkish coffee! 😆😆
Ohhh wait I see, you are talking about me making it at the end. Yes I could have done that too😅But it's such a small area I think it is mixed better when I shake it. Stirring takes forever
@@Gventures yes, if you add alot of sugar it will take some time 😊, You're the first one I see to shake coffee☕
@@AmmarBeh 🤣🤷♀my bf taught me

Egyptians love to laugh, have a great sense of humor and are quite the sarcastic bunch 😆
I hope the museum opens soon too! It has been so very long, everyone is awaiting opening day.
Once again appreciate you watching, and if you ever have any questions about anything Egypt related, don't hesitate to ask and I'll do best to give any information I have on it 😊
😊😊❤
The first time I went to Egypt in 2011 I KNOW i smoked apple sheesha with the nice big grown up pipe, but in recent years I have noticed too they give those kiddy plastic pipes lol, and I dont like it either!!. This is a mystery to me - also I have heard there is the "grown up" type heavy tobacco that can still have apple flavour (no other fruits tho)??
I have not heard this or seen this, but maybe somewhere...? All fruit shisha at any place I have ordered gives you the kiddy tube
you either shake it with one hand or stir it with a spoon until all the crumbs dissolves
Stir it, shake it, 1 hand, 2 hands, whatever works. My Egyptian boyfriend showed me the shake method, which apparently nobody does as I have had a wealth of Egyptians basically commenting "wtf are you doing" 🤣
❤❤❤❤
💗👍🌹🥰
Giselle love your videos. For I am planning a trip to egypt. I am.an American. Maybe you could show me around. I would love to pay you for your services.. ❤
Thanks! And you're going to love Egypt 😁I unfortunately can't show you around, as I have to work. But it's completely safe to explore on your own! Or if you feel uncomfortable, there are many great guides out there 😎
Your life in Egypt?!
Love it 😍
@@Gventures come Saudi Arabia
@@OMARKAJ I'd love to travel everywhere. But I need lots of money to do that 😅Maybe some day
Oh well honey, never mind the coffee your seat mate was total Clickbait and I took the bait. Wow, was definitely in heaven.
🤣
Wtf dude.
@@redx11x 😆🤷♀ Whatever. My bf is a very good looking man! But he is not into men, lucky for me 🤣
I would have trouble getting anywhere in Cairo, not because of the traffic, but because of the cats. I would have to stop to pet every one.
Ahaha. Me too. I carry a small bag of cat food in my backpack so I can feed a few of them while I am out. I love cats ❤
It’s not honey it’s molasis but Egypt people call it ❤
Yeah I learned that soon after making this video. Same with feteer 😅
Hello!! It is not honey, it is molasses, people here call it honey because both honey and molasses are called the same, and distinguished by color, we say Black honey for the molasses, and white honey for the usual normal honey, bees honey, both called Assal عسل you can google to check the correct pronunciation
So the sheesha tobacco is almost as the gentleman explained but it is molasses not honey
Yes I found that out shortly after making this video! Thanks for the info 😊
I'm arab
Firast time in my life seeing someone shaking a coffee this way 😂😂😂
Who ever told you about this idea is making fun on you
Lol well my bf is the one who told me, he is Egyptian and wasn't making fun of me, he does it this way too. But he also told me people stir it. It's easier for him to shake it though because his hands are bigger so he can do it with one hand. Also lots of Egyptians have commented saying it's weird to shake it, so I know it's not usual to do it this way. Anyway, it got the job done 🤣 But stirring it is easier for me so I do that now
@Gventures well honestly Egyptian are famous with tea
But the ciffee is not the top there
And your friend is really don't know about coffee
@@limited_song As you say. Enjoy your day 😊
WHY DONT YOU USE A SPOON ????????????
😆Because my bf doesn't and I learned from him
can you do a video on money - Egypt dollars / US dollars for buying small items and tipping - (stuff like if we need Egypt dollars where to pick some up, etc.
LOL who stirs coffee that way lol
Shaken, not stirred 🤣 🤣 🤣
I don't do that anymore now 😆
Nice
Shukran 😊🙏
Thank God it is cats, not rats
😆aywa
Is that your boy friend
Yes 😁
smoking apples seems lame. i'd rather have apple crumble pie wth ice cream.
Your comment is so lame. Why does anyone care about your opinion or what you prefer. Keep an open mind to a different culture and if you don't like it, keep your pointless opinion to yourself 🤣
why the f### you're shaking it with your hand like that lol ... just use a spoon 😂
Ha. You and everyone else has already said this. Blame my bf, he showed me that way 🤣 I do use a f##kin spoon now and laugh about shaking it. Also I've killed my bf for showing me that way 🤣
مصر احسن ولا امريكا 😂
"Better" is subjective. I don't like to compare countries. I prefer to live in Egypt, others do not.
