I am south Indian who travelled to UP twice till now. One was about 20years ago and saw a part of the country never seen anywhere in south. Poorest of poor, cities that were dirty, non-existent roads, crime rate that was astounding and no hope of any improvement. I travelled to UP last year and saw amazing developments, roads better than south and most importantly hope for future. I am taking my parents soon to UP to visit temples, a statement that I would never make before yogi ji regime.

I used to travel 80km everyday for 4 years in college and NH was filled with potholes. I saw many accidents, 2 people loosing life and 1 was my fellow student from same college. That highway was tarred every summer and with first rain road used to turn to something like lunar surface. Now the same highway is 4-lane road with 2-lane service road on each side. Accidents now are caused due to moronic behaviour of the bike riders than due to road condition. Please use your brain before criticising based on political points put out by congress

I went to India after nearly 15 years and was surprised to see how much it has changed. UP was ungovernable before but big improvements all over. Yogi did a great job cleaning up UP in every sense.

There are many countries which has NEARLY SAME AREA OF LANDMASS as that of Indian states but when you compare , you will be ecstatic by their growth and eventually find that the difference is massive, even the trade deficit is humongous. For example South Korea, Taiwan, Qatar, Switzerland, Singapore, Denmark, New Zealand, UK, Ireland, Portugal, Netherlands, Turkey, Sweden ,Finland, Austria , Italy and many more.... A few of them stated above may have some bigger area than indian states but the thing is the gdp is not even 30, 40 or even 50 percent of these countries if these sizes are nearly double or triple than indian states size.

UP has a Huge Potential.Since it's a landlocked state so no seaport that is one drawback. It has a Potential to surpass major states like MH, GJ, KA,TLG & TN.
The coast line doesn't automatically translate to high growth. Take Odisha or West Bengal for example, they have a good coast line but are struggling to compete with TN or Maharashtra.

I totally agree about the target Yogi sir took, and I am currently in UP and feel safe. Hats off to him. But, there are still some big gaps. Orange patches on the roads, watching youngsters eating gutka, hurts. No patience among people. People honk so much so that others shall clear the road for them. I have seen a fight as well because of the same impatient attitude by an auto driver. The government is trying but it is our duty to keep the roads clean and use resources properly. The only thing I observed in Kanpur is there is a big metro project going on, I wish there were some flyovers to bypass a few railway lines. Sometimes waiting in a long queue and pass 2-3 lines to reach destination, especially during peak hours becomes frustrating.
UP has enough schools, yogi made schools infrastructure better and now recruiting better teachers through competitive exams unlike before, which was based on fake degress and money

UP is the worst state in India. I can’t imagine how women live there. The problem with UP and Bihar is deeply culturally rooted and can’t be solved with the administration. Abslotutely biased. UP is poor but is a good state. For crimes against women, UP has a conviction rate of 75% which is the highest in the country and much higher than the national average of 25%. In per capita terms, UP is one of the safer states for women. Condition of women in UP is much better than in Haryana or Rajasthan. On the other hand, attitude and mentality of people of Delhi is abslolutely pathtic. I have heard pedophile jokes from Delhi women. I am from UP and it has changed rapidly and the infrastructure is being built at amazing pace. Ask Lucknow people and they mostly always prefer Lucknow to any other city in India. Maybe, perception and attitude about the state is worse than the actual condition of the state.
Me , a common girl in Up.Lives in small town . Travels to city to take coaching for competitive exam.It is 30 km journey one way. I use public transport. And although I am cautious about my surrounding , I never felt unsafe. People are generally nice and not everyone is misogynistic . Man give up seat for women if they asks for it most of time. Even if they have no obligation to do so. There might be some creeps and few unfortunate incidents but compare the population of UP to other states. Also , most people are ordinary people who just want to live normally. You are portraying a very biased picture like every man in UP is creep. Oh come on I'm from UP my father is in army and myself is a teacher pls don't be biased, I have lived in many States and that why I can say UP has progressed lot in Yogi ji working turnover, what that guy said, having cheating culture, gunda gardi, whole system was corrupt but now their are improvement, I'll give you an example do you know sarkari school in UP use to be held in single classroom with no light, drinking water, washroom, not even black board but recently I have been appointed for a survey to check facilities of government school from village to nagar palika to my surprise they have projectors, smart TV, computers, Every school have multiple urinals and latrines, new benches green board, whiteboard, solar system for electricity and some schools have rain water harvesting system even school building are rebuild , village school are do lacking in many facilities but nagar school do full fill all above items mentioned even teacher are trained regularly, for me who is from UP that is lot of improvement even roads have been repaired which I can say they are working. People are changing because I see many women going in and out on their own for work, that is improvement from parda/ghunghat to alone travel, I can't say it is totally safe but I do say their is a change.
I live in Ghaziabad.... One day I was coming back home from auto rickshaw and there in mod of journey there was a secluded area where police car is speeding(maybe something happened) then they slowed down because ahead of them there was group of 3-4 girls roaming in that area chatting... When they turn to the crowd area police then speeded their way straight.... They literally followed the group to ensure their safety... and girls can easily roam in that secluded area without fear... Yeah still a conservative mind is there for women and girls protection which is not wrong... And yes My city (which you never heard of maybe) is among top 2 heavily invested cities of UP... and has a smooth industrial corridor and only rapid rail link of India... I have no reason to believe your pov fully yeah maybe some areas you have seen and making your judgement on that..

I totally agree about the target Yogi sir took, and I am currently in UP and feel safe. Hats off to him. But, there are still some big gaps. Orange patches on the roads, watching youngsters eating gutka, hurts. No patience among people. People honk so much so that others shall clear the road for them. I have seen a fight as well because of the same impatient attitude by an auto driver. The government is trying but it is our duty to keep the roads clean and use resources properly. The only thing I observed in Kanpur is there is a big metro project going on, I wish there were some flyovers to bypass a few railway lines. Sometimes waiting in a long queue and pass 2-3 lines to reach destination, especially during peak hours becomes frustrating.

Abslotutely biased. UP is poor but is a good state. For crimes against women, UP has a conviction rate of 75% which is the highest in the country and much higher than the national average of 25%. In per capita terms, UP is one of the safer states for women. Condition of women in UP is much better than in Haryana or Rajasthan. On the other hand, attitude and mentality of people of Delhi is abslolutely pathtic. I have heard pedophile jokes from Delhi women. I am from UP and it has changed rapidly and the infrastructure is being built at amazing pace. Ask Lucknow people and they mostly always prefer Lucknow to any other city in India. Maybe, perception and attitude about the state is worse than the actual condition of the state.
Me , a common girl in Up.Lives in small town . Travels to city to take coaching for competitive exam.It is 30 km journey one way. I use public transport. And although I am cautious about my surrounding , I never felt unsafe. People are generally nice and not everyone is misogynistic . Man give up seat for women if they asks for it most of time. Even if they have no obligation to do so. There might be some creeps and few unfortunate incidents but compare the population of UP to other states. Also , most people are ordinary people who just want to live normally. You are portraying a very biased picture like every man in UP is creep.

Oh come on I'm from UP my father is in army and myself is a teacher pls don't be biased, I have lived in many States and that why I can say UP has progressed lot in Yogi ji working turnover, what that guy said, having cheating culture, gunda gardi, whole system was corrupt but now their are improvement, I'll give you an example do you know sarkari school in UP use to be held in single classroom with no light, drinking water, washroom, not even black board but recently I have been appointed for a survey to check facilities of government school from village to nagar palika to my surprise they have projectors, smart TV, computers, Every school have multiple urinals and latrines, new benches green board, whiteboard, solar system for electricity and some schools have rain water harvesting system even school building are rebuild , village school are do lacking in many facilities but nagar school do full fill all above items mentioned even teacher are trained regularly, for me who is from UP that is lot of improvement even roads have been repaired which I can say they are working. People are changing because I see many women going in and out on their own for work, that is improvement from parda/ghunghat to alone travel, I can't say it is totally safe but I do say their is a change.
I live in Ghaziabad.... One day I was coming back home from auto rickshaw and there in mod of journey there was a secluded area where police car is speeding(maybe something happened) then they slowed down because ahead of them there was group of 3-4 girls roaming in that area chatting... When they turn to the crowd area police then speeded their way straight.... They literally followed the group to ensure their safety... and girls can easily roam in that secluded area without fear... Yeah still a conservative mind is there for women and girls protection which is not wrong...
And yes My city (which you never heard of maybe) is among top 2 heavily invested cities of UP... and has a smooth industrial corridor and only rapid rail link of India...
