This season felt like romance written by a person who has never read romance and is writing what they think romance is. If I am being generous I can appreciate that they tried to give the women more 21st century agency than one might traditionally find in regency romance, but it feels like it was at the expense of Colin's character. Why can't we have both?! The new showrunner needs to hit up Emily Rath who manages to write poly stories in regency settings with characters that still have autonomy and contribute to the storyline.

I agree about wanting both and they honestly feel like they just want to write their own story at this point, but still use the name Bridgerton. This season was very disappointing for me too.
