For that exact same process Of widening the tuner hole, I rolled up 60 grit sandpaper over a metal pin and just did it by hand. it took forever, but eventually the tuner slid right in. The other methods I tried with reamers and power tools ended up messing up the headstock veneer on other guitars, so I learned my lessons the hard way and do the process the hard way
Awesome Series! I especially like your copy doesn't say Gibson on the headstock. 👌 Man this thing looks awesome! I really love worn guitars, no matter if old or a good relic.
You can buy different shaped tuner buttons for grover & schaller machine heads cheaply on ebay, including many differing materials such as wood & bone.. save on all that grinding. Your work is great. Thanks..
Hello Dr. Nitro. Can you please educate me as to why you chose to position the ‘8Bomb Custom’ name so high up on the headstock? Thank you for these great videos. I enjoy and learn from watching them. You are the master of relicing!
Fair play my man. I started my journey with hand relicing about a year ago with my old Epiphone lep paul. I have stripped it of poly lacquer and the veneer to expose the actual maple and stained a burst finishing it with nitro. It's something I want to keep getting better at. But watching you, it's clear to see that you come at it with years of experience in a related trade, and have already years under your belt in the guitar relicing alone. It's always a pleasure to watch you at work. Would love to see one of your pieces in person one day. All the best from a Polish brother in Ireland!
Would you ever do a copy of Joe Perry's 1959 Gibson Les Paul that was also owned by Slash and the same guitar used in the November Rain music video? I think it would get many many views! My dream guitar! Love the channel and keep up the awesome work!
@@8BombCustom awesome man, i actually saw that video years ago but i didnt realise that was you. What a beautiful guitar. Would love to see a full build of this one!
Sorry about the Sperzel tuners dude, i believe iv'e purchased the last 3 sets that i have seen for sale globally for my 2 Greeny replica's and my Rory Gallagher replica. You really gotta be searching all the time to find those hard to get parts if you want to be as authentic as possible. Love your vids and skill level, keep em coming.

Replicating the look of a headstock break is something I have never seen.
Normally it would seem desecrating. This is a rare case.
