As a Chef specialising in BIR Indian cuisine, I signed up for and ordered an ASDA delivery just to try out the featured product after viewing the vid and reading the comments. Although the offering is not what you'd expect from your typical Indian restaurant, I was delighted to find that the Beef Madras is every bit as good as described - very fresh and vibrant, great flavour and with a generous amount of lean beef. The rice is also very good, so definitely the best shop bought curry I've ever tasted by a distance (even better with a couple of green chillies and a cold lager!).
And just a note on the portion size - it says 'Serves 2' but its really a generous single portion! Big thanks to the Bald Foodie Guy for posting this👍😀

....an award winning Chef as well !😮 Obviously the vast majority of supermarket ready meals are to be avoided like the plague, but this is the exception. In the context of this sector it's really refreshing to find a product that isn't ultra-processed, is made from fresh ingredients and doesn't contain artificial colours, flavourings and hydrogenated fat.🙂 @@PianomanMusic96

What those figures are saying is that 98% of the 22% is British Beef Brisket. So that means 98% of 88grms of the meal in meat. Basically you get 86gms of meat out of 400gms of food.

Can I suggest to everyone instead of buying naan breads to go with these curries you try the Village Bakery…Flame Baked Folded Flatbreads, they’re light & fluffy like a naan but you can use them like a pita bread for kebabs or as wraps etc , 4 pack available from most supermarkets certainly Aldi. 👍

Try Kohinoor curry pouches too! They're delicious. I prefer making my curry's from scratch, but if you're feeling lazy Kohinoor's curry's are the next best thing. I've spotted them in Aldi recently in the Special Buys, otherwise you can find them in most Asian supermarkets.

My favourite Bom Bahia (so far) is the Chicken Biryani - it’s very, very good. Previous favourite was Waitrose’s Hot Chicken Tikka Masala which was unmatched among supermarket curries - creamy rich and spicy with a HUGE flavour. Unfortunately (like M&S) Waitrose curries shrunk by a third while rising in price in 2023. Worst of all, the recipe has changed into something thin and bland with tough chicken pieces. Unrecognisable. Thank goodness for this Asda range!

Asda have always been the best for curries, I've tried them all, Tescos a fair second, M&S the poorest, I've been making my own for more than 50 years, long before you could buy the spices.
I eat curry almost every day, so thanks for the review, a good honest opinion and well presented.

The different meals from this range at Asda have definitely been the best Indian meals you can get from a supermarket. I dunno why its taken so long for a company to get it right. And like you say, even if you were served this in an Indian restaurant, you would still be happy.
