Hi all, these frozen prawns from Aldi are great for this dish. You can cook them for ages and they don't go tough or rubbery. Thought I'd just clear that up 😂😋😋 the curry paste is from Tesco. Have a good night all.

Looks good Gareth however even though you said the prawns don't go rubbery, the prawns and lead could have gone in for last couple of minutes and would probably hold better flavours.Just my opinion mind 👍

I've been buying this stuff from my local Chinese supermarket for years. Excellent stuff. I use it for doing sausage chips and curry sauce (sometimes with left over egg fried rice), or just making some up to go with cooked chicken. Exactly the same stuff that the local takeaway uses.

Had the Goldfish curry last night with slices of chicken, onion, carrot and mushroom. (Wifey cannot eat a prawn 😡) I mix the curry paste up first with measurements off the packet. It's a bit thin, but I find it thickens as the cornflower cooks through with the chicken and veg. Should cook all your other ingredients first in order then add wet sauce, I find. I made a little too much curry sauce so we'll be having it tonight on our chips!
It's YOUR fault I bought it in the first place.. 😅😋

Don't ever feel guilty if you earn from this because I think your videos give comfort to a lot of lonely people, and also it's really good for combating stress. I’m amazed at how long you cook your prawns for, they’ve always been the last thing I add to the cooking process, as soon as they turn pink they’re done, and are normally succulent and soft to the bite, maybe I’m missing something by not letting them cook for longer, I’ll have to experiment.

Used to get this from the co-op, It's very good. They do a mild and hot one, and I used to add a touch of dark soya sauce. Lovely! I can't get it anymore.

I’ve been using this curry paste for well over twenty years and I get it from the Wing Yips Chinese warehouse in Birmingham. They do have other warehouses around the country as well. They have three different flavours but the one that I think is the best is the madras one

@@BaldFoodieGuy and that’s why I’ve been using it for so long. It’s cheaper if you get it from the Chinese warehouse. And it’s cheaper again if you buy a box of 12 tubs, it has a long shelf life

Spice Tailor pouches are worth a look. We've found their Thai green curry is one of the best without being overly salty and it comes with the coconut milk.

That Goldfish brand is the mutt's Gaz, I sometimes get Cook's brand here in the land of smiles which I think is the same stuff but not been able to get it for a while. My mate Hon Ping Tan (look him up on IMDB) had a couple of restaurant/takeaways and he put me on to it and showed me how they prepare their takeaways. I can always use the Japanese curry sauce which is similar or if all else fails I can make my own. Good thing here is the seafood is fairly cheap and fresh and it's all better done in a wok. Cheers

Nice one Gareth, another one to take to the bank, cheers for sharing buddy. Nothing wrong with showing something different, and it gives some of us less culinary experts something we can easily knock up in an evening... love a bit of curry sauce and chips, goes well in a buttery bun.. well chips and curry sauce anyway... I wouldn't put your mix in a bun, that would be just wrong, chips and curry sauce with king prawns and peas in a buttery bun... nah.. wrong that...
