Hi all, these frozen prawns from Aldi are great for this dish. You can cook them for ages and they don't go tough or rubbery. Thought I'd just clear that up 😂😋😋 the curry paste is from Tesco. Have a good night all.
Looks good Gareth however even though you said the prawns don't go rubbery, the prawns and lead could have gone in for last couple of minutes and would probably hold better flavours.Just my opinion mind 👍

I've been buying this stuff from my local Chinese supermarket for years. Excellent stuff. I use it for doing sausage chips and curry sauce (sometimes with left over egg fried rice), or just making some up to go with cooked chicken. Exactly the same stuff that the local takeaway uses.
To one Gareth to another, been using this Chinese curry paste for years. Kids love it. You can get different versions from any Chinese supermarket. Good video. 👍🏼
Looks delish! Here I am at 06.00 fancying a Chinese in Spain! Never heard of this curry. If I do prawns I add them at the end for about four minutes so they don't go rubbery.

Had the Goldfish curry last night with slices of chicken, onion, carrot and mushroom. (Wifey cannot eat a prawn 😡) I mix the curry paste up first with measurements off the packet. It's a bit thin, but I find it thickens as the cornflower cooks through with the chicken and veg. Should cook all your other ingredients first in order then add wet sauce, I find. I made a little too much curry sauce so we'll be having it tonight on our chips! It's YOUR fault I bought it in the first place.. 😅😋 Oh, and try Tesco's Chilli Relish (£1.60.) with your plawn clackers.
Everyone should be checking what is in their freezer, and make a meal of whatever you can find. Great job Gareth. Love Debra from Melbourne, Australia xxx
Best Chinese curry paste, making a chicken one tonight. For a family sized curry I use half a tub of paste to 600ml of water. Chicken, chunky onion like you and mushrooms. Luvly. Thanks Gareth 👍
I have the mayflower powder and the frozen ready-made mayflower and combine the two I do like the look of the curry sauce you used looked good. Great home cooking on a budget or not. 👍👍👍
Oh lordy, was going to have sausage chips and beans for tea tonight, but beans have now been struck off, and mayflower curry sauce I got after your review, will now smoother the chips
I love Goldfish too, using it tonight for takeaway style chicken curry and egg fried rice. Chicken in the fridge now marinading in minced garlic, white pepper, mustard powder, onion granules, five spice, salt, MSG, Chinese cooking wine, soy sauce, oyster sauce and cornflour.
Haha I knew you'd get into the goldfish curry paste Gaz, so easy to make your favourite Chinese curry at home, I use prawns, chicken, thin sliced steak, anything is belting.

I’m amazed at how long you cook your prawns for, they’ve always been the last thing I add to the cooking process, as soon as they turn pink they’re done, and are normally succulent and soft to the bite, maybe I’m missing something by not letting them cook for longer, I’ll have to experiment. Have you done a review of the “Maykway” curry powders? I only discovered them when I moved up North to Liverpool, they are nice if you could give them a test, great channel dude!
