It's not like I'm a professional but I've been racing for 20 plus years and have driven hundreds of races in the Seattl j24 fleet. So, here is my input to what I see here: It's super important that you maintain awareness of your point of sail at all times. Keep your head up and eyes out of the boat. Don't let go of the tiller and learn to trim and ease the mainsheet with one hand on the tiller. I use three fingers for the tiller and two for the mainsheet. Practice in moderate air until you can tack and jibe without looking down. Good luck.
We was playing around with the jib. We kept getting hit with 25 to 30 gust. We could have stayed out on the water but would run risk of breaking something. We will reef the main next time it’s that strong and give it another go. Thanks!
Those Hunter 216 boats are so sensitive to wind guests or anything over 14 knots..... Really not a fun boat to sail IMO.... a beautiful fast looking boat but not fun in the stronger winds above 14.

Always learning and trying to get better. 👍
Perhaps using the reef points would have made it a little more efficient and easier to handle. EZ for me to say sitting in my office chair!!
It looked to me like the jib was in too tight and was causing a bubble in the main. Sporty conditions!

I agree 14 knots is good ,anything above that is a white knuckle ride.
