People defending this unfairness will always be baffling to me. Miqote, Roegadyn, Elezen, Hyur, Lala, Aura all of them can use every single headwear and hairstyle that's ever been released. Telling us we should be happy with bare minimum just because YOU can wear it all does not help. Use the advice I see on many forums make or change to Viera/Hrothgar and then tell me how nice it is. Don't worry about the negative comments and keep up the great work you do❤

@@VortexTalon Some hairs are shared between all faces for male and female hroth but there are a few hairstyles that only come with one of the four face options. And it makes little sense. So at first you had to fantasia any hair cut changes then they let you pay gil to pick from the 4 options tied to your face. Then when generic hairs started getting added all the new could be changed. I made a fem hroth for DT and I love her height and build one face looked so bad for me but had a cute hair I wanted. Luckily the face I liked the most had a long mane I felt was almost as good. But I morn my hats and would pick that other hair if I could keep this face.
For me, before they even consider adding more of the regular Hairstyles to Hrothgars, they should first address the issue and let any Hroth face use all Hrothgar exclusive hairstyles. If they can add the normal hairs to all faces, then they can do so too for the other hrothgar hairstyles.
I was just thinking about this myself. It goes even further than it being 5 years of no new commentary on it. Its the fact that i could buy new gear from the paid store and still not be able to wear the hat. That I buy a book to put on my real shelf that comes with the matoya's hat item code that i just cannot use on my main character bc he is a viera. That they are more willing to just change the hats so the viera and hrothgar can at least have the face pieces on but not the hat. It's insanely disappointing and dishonest, as they said they would finish them and they still are not finished. It doesn't matter if they arent the major playerbase, they promised to finish them and they aren't finished. Like you said its about fairness. It is not fair to see new gear have pieces that I can't even decide if I want to use or not bc it's already been decided that i cant.

It really is just GENUINELY insane that NEW hats still can't be worn by vieras/hrothgar. Old hats taking a while is "fine"... BUT NEW ITEMS? ?????????? Especially CASH SHOP items. Just spend money to not be allowed to wear your hat.
It is insulting that they continue to make more outfits that don't work for a race that people (myself included) have to pay for. It is even more insulting when you're locked out of wearing achievement items that take hours to grind; field commander helm or the chocobo helm
The fact that the community has "fixed" this glaring issue means its not only possible but is that 100% the Dev's dont WANT to add all the helms to all races.
With female Hrothgars there's also a whole other problem: Some gear pieces are ridiculously oversized on their arms and shoulders to a point it looks very bad. They did address that in the latest patch and fixed some gear, but there is still a ton of gear that is broken on Femhroths. Even the new Wintertide set they released with 7.1 has the huge sleeves problem. (If you google "rigging problems on female hrothgar" you should find a thread in the official forum about this with screenshots)
Honestly? I stopped playing in Endwalker once I came to the realization that we wouldn't be getting hats anytime soon. I still haven't come back. I just don't want to deal with a game that's actually taking features away from my play with no recourse.
I randomly came across your video and I was pleasantly surprised. As a viera player since the beginning of EndWalker I've been screaming into the wind over the hat and hairstyle person placed on us. I didn't want to believe it, but it finally clicked that the devs aren't concerned with fixing such a simple issue. Everything clips in the game, that's not a valid reason and frankly it wasn't then. I played well over 110 Crystalline Conflict matches for the PvP set just to not be able to use the headpiece on my Hrothgar character, I'm guessing Viera characters can't use it either which is so ridiculous. Surely the devs can fit ONE headgear to Hrothgar and Viera a day and then release them on patch day rather than completely ignoring the problem.

i really like your calm voice and i agree with you ^^ my main is a male viera since they came out and on pretty much every job i wear these artisan / crafter doctor looking like glasses, but just something that came to my mind, maybe you think about it maybe not, its up to you, i would show some FF14 content or at least artwork of FF14 while you talk about it instead of real bunnys and lions, even tho i like lions :D but what you show in a video is ofc completely up to you and an artistic choice. :) 👍

I do think it’s interesting that you bring this up regarding Viera and Hrothgar and the hats issue, because I feel exactly the same every time they add a new job to the game but we lack the weapons from near to all the content prior to new jobs release. It’s a lot of work on the art team yea, but it’s the same principle. It’s not really fair when you want to do something like Ultimate Coil of Bahamut, or Weapons refrain ultimate, but the job you enjoy playing doesn’t benefit from those at all because they were just unlucky enough to not have existed yet
Hroth have it worse. Iirc they still have to pay real money for Fantasia to change something as simple and available for everyone else, hairstyles. And yes although they have been giving us free Fantasia, 1 or 2 doesnt solve the issue but instead distracting one of it because getting free fantasia is not going to be a common occurance for long.
Hrothgar's can change their hairstyles without fantasia for a while now. One of the many problems is the fact that their unique hairstyles are tied to the different faces instead of it all being available.
The reason I stopped playing as a viera. Hairstyles unavailable and head gear not showing. Like sure, could just mod things, but it should be base game. Au ra sit on clipping horns while new gear gets the red words. “Unavailable for viera and hrothgar.”
I hope both hroth and viera gain access to every hat available the game and they all get dual channel dyes. One thing that springs to mind though: if it was so easy to implement since day one and the demand for it is so significant then why don't we have it? There has to be an actual reason for this that isn't just the braindead "game company = lazy/greedy" take that people stamp on any developer that hasn't done what they wanted. There just has to be. Do what people told the lala's when they complained about being barred from rp events and take advantage of that free fantasia while you can I guess.

Modders have made them work visually and yes many people will also say "that is client side and only you see that" but I stated in the previous video as well that SE would only need to work on the server side and iron out the problems if any of it messes with the game. The same reason any other player enjoys playing one of the 6 other non Hrothgar and Viera is the same reason we enjoy playing Hrothgar and Viera because we want to. The community at large who is against it acts as if giving the same items to the Hrothgar and Viera will break the game, they say there is more important stuff or there is a wealth of content and why are we complaining. I can go on and on but I've already mentioned all my points in 3 videos so I'll just leave this example. We both buy a loaf of bread at the same price but since I am a specific race I only get a quarter of the loaf while you get a full loaf then while we walk out of the shop you tell me they cut the ends of the bread only leaving you 80% while I still have my 25% of the same loaf of bread we paid for. That example is for Miqote players who say their ears get hidden under hats, how can we compare a race among the 6 that has access to all hats and hairstyles to those 2 that have a very small selection of said hats? Lore, as a Highlander Hyur player, there is a lore statement in Encyclopedia Eorzea about Highlanders wearing special charms, which is represented with the gendered hempen tops, which is why Hyurs are the only race with separate incarnations of the racial hempen set between tribes. There could have always been a lore statement on Viera or Hrothgars not wearing hats due to cultural reasons, but they gave us a taste of it and said nothing so....now I hope Hroths and Viera *get* their hats and hairs
No it is not easy.... The skeleton for rhotgar and viera is different so it requires morphing the initial hat to avoid an horrible clipping everywhere that would release a cascade of terrible comment from the community. So that's why they do bits by bits at a time. To be honest, if the community didn't scream for bunny boy and burly cat girls they would have probably be able to address the issue much sooner. Programming isn't easy you know.
At the end of the day, Viera and Hrothgar are like 7% of the playerbase, and yoship doesnt give a shit what you complain about as long as you keep playing. Yoship is a piece of shit, some people just arnt ready to hear it.

The new craftable Wintertide and PvP set's hats do not show on Hrothgar and Viera. It's a real kick in the teeth.
from the EW PVP-series sets only the Monarchy one works for them.
