I never thought turning children's toy collection into a commune was a good idea and still don't. Kids break things. I applaud your parents for letting you buy them in pairs like that. If I want a Crash and you want a Crash and we are siblings, I do not want to wake up one morning and find the only Crash in the house finger painted blue and black because they are your favorite colors.
Great set of Gobot figures. I only had a few of them, but remember the day I got Cy-kill and opened it up in the restaurant, going over its transformation while eating fast food.
The closest we’ve got to Masterpiece is Action Toys licensed Machine Robo; Revenge of Cronos. The only bad thing though is they can only produce characters who appeared in the show, so no Copter. And the only version of Crasher we would get is the white one. But we did get DX Cy-Kil with interchangeable faces and even swap out hands to mimic his laser blasts.

I always liked Baron Von Joy. The pure wackiness of his head just being the top of the car always fascinated me. Tux was always a personal favorite. Nothing like a metal top hat for your bougie robot limo!
I remember owning heatseeker and scorp in my childhood and of course I lost them but was able to get my hands on both of them few years ago and they are my favorites :)
What a nostalgia trip. Haven’t set eyes on these guys since the mid 80s and had quite forgotten about them all but it’s suddenly flooding back like yesterday watching this. They were obviously never as popular as Transformers but you’d go to a friend’s house and they’d usually be one or two of these guys kicking around in a toy box. I think a lot of them were a case of grandparents buying the wrong brand of transforming robot for Christmas presents!
I actually loved the gobots as a kid.... the small gobots generally had better designs, alt modes and unique transformations that the transformers minibots lacked. All in all small gobots were way better than transformer minibots... although the bigger transformers were better than all the others

Actually when the transforming craze started I got my first at a market in Boston when we were on vacation in '84 and the box said MR-06 (I think) turned out to be Fitor so yeah a favorite for me.
I thought the same thing before the cartoon aired because I think he was called that in the little comic book they had. At least I remember reading or misreading that in the mini comic.
There is a top 10 Gobots !?? The only ones i ever got for a birthday was Leader One and Cykill. I remember giving the eyes to my parents.. The next birthday i got Transformers and everything went back to normal.

That's why around the mid/late 90s saw a shift in children's programming from awesome cartoons with cool toys to the shows we have today with absolutely no character or charm. And most importantly, NO GOOD TOYS!
The green and black Cy-Kill is the best! When I was a kid, my mom and dad bought one for my friend's birthday and I wanted one sooo bad, but they wouldn't buy me one:( Needless to say, now I'm 42 so I can buy all the Gobots I've always wanted!

You assembled Puzzler wrong, his shoulders aren't supposed to be that narrow. Turn the front of the cars for the arms facing toward the ground. It provides the "V" torso. Then rotate the "arms" over." That's why his arms look ridiculously long in your picture.

As a kid, I had a choice between two KO box sets for my eighth birthday: Puzzler (or whatever he was called if he was in Machine Robo) or this sick lookin' Diaclone Construction Robo (aka Devastator)...obviously I went with Devastator. • I had the blue repaint of Leader-1, as that was what was on shelves at that point... • ...same deal with Cy-kill, I had that sick black & gray repaint. • Crasher is an oddity: I had one as a kid, but she may have been a KO, because she was RED, something that neither Go-Bots nor Machine Robo had. 😂🤣 • Turbo is ANOTHER unique case for me: I had this crazy *MODEL KIT* of him...and this weirdo was an OFFICIAL PRODUCT, which is even more bizarre. Why? The car mode was pretty awesome, but the robot mode was SO INACCURATE!! It looked like they based it off Bandai's lineart used for marketing (which always looks like crap, just look at their art for Power Rangers products through the years) instead of the original Machine Robo or even the onscreen Go-Bots redesign!!

Can we agree on the names though? I wonder what Scooter turns into? Cop-Tur? Loco? Jeepers? However one of the problems I have with Transformers is that they came from a metal planet called Cybertron so...what is a Bumblebee???
Some more of my favorites were Bug Bite, the seaplane (my 1st transforming robot toy), the real working watch, and the super Gobot space shuttle (Space C?) A lot of Gobots were better than Transformers; it's a shame they had a bad name. Puzzler blew away Devastator because he had all his parts built-in; he was just too small. Also, the toys came first, so the show was actually toy-accurate. One of the reasons was because they had better source material, at least for the minibots. Basically, Transformers had better large toys (though the larger Gobot vehicle modes were great) and Gobots had better small toys.
I didn't have many Gobots, but I somehow had a regular-size Leader-1 and a Super sized Cy-Kill. I didn't mind the backpack-thing as it meant I didn't have to worry about losing the wheels. I thought Crasher and Turbo were good figs but they should've done Crasher's face instead of the generic visor thing. She was so menacing!
This was a blast from the past. I had many of those when I was a kid before I got my first Transformers. After I got my first Transformers the Gobots stopped mattering to me, but it was fun to see all of these again.
The x transbots turbo isn’t horrible. Its quality is pretty bad, and it’s stylized (Ollie remold) but it looks good on a shelf. And the head sculpt is at least really good.
I share your perspective on scooter. Great figure, very annoying character. Was that Frank Welker doing his voice? He was very prominent in Hanna Barbara and did a ton of voices including gobots if I remember correctly. I had the white crasher and was jealous my friend had the black cartoon accurate one. I had kind of a crush on crasher as a kid.....I guess maybe in some kind of dominatrix way? Lol
I loved playing with gobots alongside my transformers. I never had any of the ones you showed in your video, but some of my favorites I had were royal t, dive dive, spoons, road ranger, rest q, fitor, and loco.
1983 Gobots have Leader 1... A jet alt mode with no kibble and clean transformation. 2022- Hasbro Transformers with every single one of their jet transformers having exposed arms under jet mode and looking silly

I hope third party companies look at Gobots in the future, because most transformer fans had a few Gobots in their collections growing-up. I know I did. I'll be happy with a few of the main characters turning into masterpieces.

There is a pretty cool Crasher model kit. I bought one on eBay. It stands taller than the toy but shorter than a super gobot.

Crasher is my #1 without a doubt. Turbo looked ugly to me. His alt mode was just too...long. Shout out to Jeeper Creeper!

@@goatintuxedo2206 HEY dont get me wrong i had way more transformers than gobots but a lot of the smaller gobots definitely had better engineering and transformations than the minibots. when it came to the larger bots transformers were generally way better...

i had some minibots and it was literally just a folding piece of plastic.
even though i loved this character, i had Cosmos.. and i can remember the legs being just one piece. lol
Minibots definitely loses.
I hope third party companies look at Gobots in the future, because most transformer fans had a few Gobots in their collections growing-up. I know I did. I'll be happy with a few of the main characters turning into masterpieces.
They should do at least a few but seems most just repaint an existing mold like DX9 Salmore and Cocamone. Thanks
