Well well well... This video is dedicated to my very dear friend Heather on her birthday. I cannot tell you how much this amazing person means to me. Over the last year, she's been one of the closest people to me and really helped me out in times where I felt truly at my lowest. I must admit I've not always been the easiest person to know, which is why she means so much to me because she's stuck with me even at my worst. And not just that, but she introduced me to this awesome franchise which has quickly become one of my favourites! And since I know it's one of her absolute favourites, I thought I'd edit it.
Oh and also because I just finished Ash vs Evil Dead and it was fucking awesome and I had to edit it anyway. I hope you guys find this video as groovy as I hope it is!

BEN!!! This is honestly one of the most badass, craziest Evil Dead tributes I’ve ever seen, and one of the most fitting songs ever to go with it. I can’t believe I never heard this song before until your video. It fits the show so perfectly!!! I don’t know where to begin with this video. I’ve been sitting here watching it on repeat trying to find the words to come up with describing how amazing it is. I’ve realized nothing I say will give this tribute the justice it deserves, but I’m gonna try at least.
You used some of the most underrated shots and quotes this show (and the movies!) have, that I’ve not seen many people use in Ash/Evil Dead videos and it just proves how well your attention to detail is. You can tell how much you love these movies and series by how much thought and care you put into delivering such a work of art like this. Your lyrical interpretation is just so amazing in this, too. I love this one part at 0:34 with Ash saying “Honey I’m home”. Don’t know what about that part I love so much, but I just do. Hahaha. I also LOVE the parallel at 1:45 you did with the hands punching through their chests like that. Such a clever parallel! There’s so many perfect parallels in this video, it’s insane. The way you edit the choruses in this with so many badass shots of Ash with his shotgun & chainsaw that match the beats, are just perfect. It’s so hard to make these movies blend so well with the show, and you do it so perfectly in this one. Nothing is out of place. It all has a vibe that fits together and with your editing style and creative choices, this makes it a top tier edit. I’ll be rewatching this one a lot, and seeing new things and connections that I didn’t pick up on the first time every time I do. That’s the beauty of this edit, and it’ll never get old! Thank you so much Ben, for dedicating this amazing video to me. I don’t deserve it!! This is such an amazing gift. I can’t tell you what an amazing last year it’s been getting to know you, hang out and watch movies and play games (and especially getting to watch THESE movies with you!) It’s been so much fun and I can’t wait for the future ones.

Love it, the shotgun flip parallel at 0:54 was godly. The immediate parallel of the sawblade tracking shot, nut worthy, really. If you told me Barns Courtney was perfect for an Evil Dead edit, I'd call you nuts, but you did it. This edit is certifiably groovy.

@@groovyash5334 the background music is very easy to remove. But it requires a slight bit of patience.
I always ensure my footage is from FULL episodes / movies, not clips. And I always download 1080p or 4k quality with 5.1 audio (6 channels). Those 6 audio channels mean that the audio is separated into different layers (if you’re familiar with editing softwares then that makes sense). Audio channel 3 is sound effects and dialogue with heavily filtered background music - either there’s very little or none at all.
And I use Vegas Pro 16 to edit my videos but the sound effects are what I’ve downloaded :P I often add in stock sounds, whoosh sound effects or cinematic “rumbles” to my videos which you can find for free on TH-cam or on other websites online. Very simple 😅

Which evil dead is your personal favorite, spidey?
I think it alternates between the first two definitely. For a period I was convinced it was the original, now I’m a bit more swayed by Evil Dead 2. I just adore the tone and the character within the cinematography that both of them possess.
But I also adore the show. I think it was mostly fantastic and ended at a very good place.
