I’m on the fence of more international airlines flying directly to Kumasi as this can SIGNIFICANTLY reduce air traffic to the main airport of Ghana, Kotoka.
People have no idea that MAJORITY of travelers in Ghana are from Ashanti and its surrounding regions. Hmmmmmm.

      keep this in your head.
Kumasi airport is a good thing and we all like the fact that Kumasi International Airport is finally going to be a dream come through but don't let that decieved you into thinking that Kumasi Airport will ever affect Kotoka or will become busier than Kotoka.
Even after 100 years Kotoka airport will still be the number 1 Airport in Ghana.
You can research on other countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt and the rest.
Even after decades Mutala Mohammed Airport in Lagos is still the leading airport in Nigeria Eventhough Abuja is the national capital. Kano International Airport has nothing on the Airport in Lagos as well

@@dennisbrown7930 Aviation authorities in Ghana has already stated that nearly 60% of air travelers in the country are from that region of the country. I’m not saying it’ll be busier than Accra. That will NOT be the case for MANY reasons with one being that not all airlines will decide to fly directly to Kumasi due to Kotoka airport logistics in comparison to Kumasi.
HOWEVER, If Kumasi airport was to have logistics comparable to Kotoka, you will be delusional to continue to think that the fact that Accra is the capital, the airport there will still be busier than Accra. AGAIN, Kotoka will continue to be busier for logistics and size reasons.
And my initial comment was not to say Kumasi airport will be busier than Kotoka. What I meant is, the more the airport start receiving direct international air traffic, it will SIGNIFICANTLY reduce that of KIA which is not a bad thing. It’s FACT!

60% ? that's where your confusion started. It is not only the 60% Ghanaians that uses the Kotoka Airport . There are many foreigners that uses Kotoka (some on transit, others for visits, tourism and many more). Don't be decieved
Lastly Kotoka and Tamale Airports are the only airports that can take huge Aircrafts because of the runway length so you guys should rather pray that Kumasi airport will get more planes landing there

U don’t know what u are saying the airport people said 55to 60% of their customers are heading to the Ashanti region and opening Kumasi airport will help them and again if large planes can’t land in kumasi they will transit those people who ll use those wide bodies aircraft to their destination…wether u like it or not KIA operations will be affected someway

Do u know how frequent ppl in Accra travel. See government officials? Diplomatic expats … tourist … musicians footballs Nigerians living in Accra .U forget that majority of the rich ppl live in Accra
