Tax payers must hold the Civil Aviation responsible and put them before a law court. Because they should have sought a building permit with international airport specifications and build as specified. Waiting until completion before coming out to say this. Kofi ,we have united airline flying direct frome Washington DC to Ghana. Also, dalte airline direct flights from New York to Ghana .
One thing you guys forget is that, it is up to the airlines to chose the airports from which they operate thatvwill suit their business model. If these international airlines decide to land only in Kotoka, no one can force them to land in Kumasi.

It could be they are in transit through Kotoka. They came from somewhere, landed in Kotoka to pick up some passengers, and fly straight to the USA.

Is because the old one is in the taxi link way and that it must be demolish , so they had to commission the new terminal for them to use it for the domestic flights and when the link is completed they will work on the extension on the runway to 2300m from 1900m and create additional apron where planes can park …already icao has given them the code name that Kms for the airport …so don’t belief this self acclaim aviation expect😂😂😂

Go back and watch the speeches delivered during the commissioning of the airport plus the timelines for full operations to take place . Kofi is spewing untruth ? Afghanistan, Somalia, and Iraq are International flights. Just because planes might not be able to fly to the USA and Canada does not disqualify it to be an international airport. Ghana to Nigeria is International, and every flight that is between two different nations is International. Also, the Ashanti region is no jungle. Their fleets are smaller aircraft so they can land
Egypt air uses Airbus A320 and Asky uses Boeing 737 those aircraft are quite smaller to land at Kumasi
Unlike Emirate, British Airways and the likes, They uses bigger aircraft so they can’t land at Kumasi for now
NB: Egypt air came to Kumasi not for commercial purpose.. That is what Zamalek players boarded to Kumasi to play against Dreams FC during the CAF tournament
