Books have helped me gain back my cognitive ability when I was struggling with medication from being disabled with bipolar disorder. I think that, along with medication, diet, and meditation, and playing chess, I've built up new neural pathways that have helped me think more clearly. I used to have such trouble reading (like one year I read 5 books), but I've read about 75+ books this year! I'm so proud of myself!
Books have been my therapy ever since November 5. I think we are on to something here. At nothing else, I have found out that Stephen King is a master storyteller. Sending hugs, the loss of our parents can be soooo difficult . Love that you are so vulnerable and strong.
Hi Tina!! I love books and I to read because it’s a way of escape from the realities of life for me, it’s time that I set aside for myself to do what I love to do, reading has helped me to stop and slow down and just think. I could go on and on lol. My favorite go to drink is coffee but I’ve really been drinking a lot of tea lately. Coke was my most favorite soda but chile I had to be delivered from that stuff( no judgment at all) cause it was causing me some issues😂 Anywho thank you for sharing, keep being sweet and keep shining⭐️🙏🏽🫶🏽
@@tracysopenbook oh friend I hear ya…I never buy soda for the house anymore because coke was always on deck so now it’s a once in a while thing because yup it will definitely do some damage. I need to get more into teas because I’m all about coffee as well. Thank you for the love friend🫶🏽♥️
@@BrynnD yesssss!!! This community has helped me learn a lot about myself and has helped me come out of my shell. Meeting so many incredible bookish friends is the icing on top♥️🥰
Sheesh!I have a lot lot lot to catch up on.. but Hey girl hey!! Books have definitely been my escape.. although I have been slipping BUT I'm making it a MUST self care!.. I love a good thriller book, christian thriller, something that helps take me away from my reality for a while.. or heck even just going to The Bible and doing a character study is like a good book also especially when you ask God to take you deeper into it,He reveals so much more and even things you may have already read so many times and He will give a different pov of it.. I lost my grandfather this past Oct 22. The anniversary of my dads passing was November 10 and my grandma's passing anniversary date is in mid-January. Needless to say, the holiday season doesn't feel good to me at all anymore 💔

Books have helped me grow a community. I love the book side of the internet and just wish I knew about it before I learned about it last December.
