Climbing Henderson Ridge (on a rainy day)

- What was meant to be a relatively easy climb up and down the 5.4 Henderson Ridge turned into a much more difficult experience due to some less than ideal weather! The rain meant slick rock, and the mountaineering boots I was wearing didn't help. The result was a fun and interesting challenge of trying to climb with super low friction underfoot. We managed our way up, but the down-climb will have to wait for next time!
Guided by Austen of Northeast Mountaineering on 6/3/2023. I highly recommend NEM for any guided trips in New Hampshire, always a great time with them!
Yep I'm binging you today. Headed out to to Mt Baker and Shuksan in less that a month. Shuksan's summit pyramid will be the first time on steep rock with mountaineering boots. Hopefully it'll be dry and not the mess you're dealing with here.
Probably take the boots to North Conway this weekend and see what it's like.
I tried to hook up with NEM in Washington this year but it just didn't work out.
I climb with John Willard of Willard Mtn Guides in NC NH. PEACE
Best of luck! I've heard Shuksan is one of the best technical climbs out there!
@@nickhassan just as you, fingers crossed for clear skies!!
