💯 Great take ! This is a very informative video. With all the fakes coming out , I have some concerns with all the new pcgs slabs I see out here. And can't help but wonder how many of the. That are out here now are fake . I see such a tremendous amount of them raw ! And slabs and think wow! I know that they had a decent amount minted of Morgan's and we have lost a bunch due to melting and other various ways all to find out that dealers and myself with other are getting Robbed ! Why is customs not slowing this or we as a country ! Putting more stringed laws into effect or collapsing coins going in and out of the country?
I'm a novice numismatist and have a ig page with a few thousand followers where I showcase my collection. In 2022 I went and got $2k in coins of a certain denomination. I was looking for commemoratives that's how novice a collector I am but I noticed that there were 5 errors that were consistently appearing. So I started again and separated all the odd coins and found that sure enough, 5 years of that specific coin were being counterfeited. 12% of all the coins I got were counterfeited out of that 2k and it was such a sizeable amount and I had separated them that I decided to just keep them. I was going to toss them into the river because I was raised in the west and as such was taught there were stiff penalties but sadly that's not the case.
Sam Zell was a billionaire who passed away in the last year. Sam made millions buying and selling companies and stuff in general. Sam Zell had a standing policy to never buy anything in any auction. That's how much he did not trust auctions for giving or getting true value for anything.
We have the same issue if not more profound in the stamp collecting world. I’ve worked with several postal inspectors in the stamp counterfeit market. The counterfeits are nearly indistinguishable these days and will likely contribute to the fall of the postal service. Unfortunately they don’t have the manpower to put an end to it. It’s a real epidemic.
Not maybe. They are. Always zoom in on the holder and verify w pcgs or ngc coin lookup apps before buying a slabbed coin online, if u can't read the number, don't buy it.
I would never ever buy anything in any online auction where there is a buyer premium and a seller fee collected by the same auction house. I make it a point to do my own background research when I buy something of cash value. Online auctions by the usual suspects protect their losses by insuring that there are no auction losses. There is too much money at stake for an investor or collector to trust major online auction houses to render a fair and genuine auction price for anything. Auctions are never my 1st choice to get $$$$ for collectibles.
On feebay yesterday I saw hundreds of silver eagles from china for buy it now price of 22/24$. I'll never buy another again there are so many counterfeits
This looks like propaganda to stop the mass panic that is going on right now if you buy your silver coins from a reputable seller and check and inspect them you should be able to spot a fake like this video
💯

This looks exactly like what a group of coin collectors should look like.
Great informative presentation. I didn't realize maybe they were selling fake grading company holders on Ebay.

The chinese government is responsible for the counterfit coins, also North Korea is producing very good counterfit money.
