Impressive Nest-Building Skills of the Great Bowerbird | SLICE

A "bower" is the name of the short-term love nest of the great bowerbird, a species found in Australia and New Guinea. Built by males, its only function is to attract females for mating. Each bower is unique to its creator and the elaborate structure is often embellished with bright colored objects. Stones, bones, snail shells but also plastic objects like bottle caps.

They see color just fine, their vision and color variation skills are greater than a human. Just look at the colors in their design of the bower that wouldn’t be possible without excellent color vision
