Thing is, it takes a body that meets US crash regs. In order to do that, you get something like the 250 or 300. I highly doubt that they could modify a 70 enough to pass. I love it! The whole thing, as is should be in production!
Tax wise here in Europe, this LC version could be an interesting option, since it could allow being registered as commercial vehicle with a sectioned cargo bay. Similar happened with some Wrangler and Defender, being registered as pick-ups with a hard top.
I’ve had a Jeep for 3 months. Love it Willys w/35” package. I would dump it in a heart beat for the Rox. Make it more affordable or at least a version of it and 33”-35” tires for daily driving or target mpg of 15-18. I would assume it’s got a top like a wrangler or have one available. That thing is awesome. Fingers crossed.
MAN! THIS NEEDS TO COME TO REALITY!!!!! "BUILD IT AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!"
Yes yes yes build it and take my money !!! Amazing design and off road functionality 👍👏👏
Build it and take my money!!
Kinda surprised this type of build wasn’t what the new 4Runner was.
I like that Toyota. They did a great job on that.
Nice, I'd certainly consider cashing in my Bronco, maybe... but i won't hold my breath to see something even close than that in production
I want a snow and ice version for Canada!
Build it, although a hard top version should be made as well. Those under door channels should be made to hold water.
Build It!
OHHHHH WOW! LOVE IT. BUILD IT BABY! BUYER HERE!
over 100K for sure.
The Bronco isn't and this is pretty similar underneath,
IFS Front / Solid Rear
With markups it should only be 90 or 85k dollars 😂🎉
its going to compete with wrangler and bronco there price range is 40k and up
The production version of this wouldn't be this crazy. Toyota would never release a vehicle with 37 inch tires.
@@sixpest have you not seen bronco up charges
@@TheCamaro5Go to Toyota with $40K... And you'll be driving a Camry...
I am an FJ guy i had mine from 2007 till last year 2023 with 467k miles and the engine still cranked for me with no issues . The floor boards and doors were getting major rust from all the damn salt on long island NY and towing my boat and launching into salt water hundreds of times didnt help with the rust . But it was the best truck i ever owned . A part of me died when they stopped making . I made the mistake of buying a wrangler after i sold her . And i want my FJ back! Toyota please give me some FJ lol land cruisers are a bit too rich for my blood
FJ on steroids
Roman was SO careful that it brought the moon out early!! 3:31
BUILD IT!!
It was really cool to meet you to today. Thank you for speaking with me. You said i had the bear teeth at sema 😂😂😂😂
That looks awesome! 😲😎
I daily a FJ60 and live in Moab. I'd be willing to give it a real world test to see what refinements it will need. I'll need it for at least a year to test all the seasonal activities. Keep me in mind.
Toyota will never build this level of Land Cruiser. But maybe, just maybe, they will give us something close that the aftermarket and enthusiasts can take to the next level. Toyota listen, I refused to buy the 250 because it was small and I didn’t want a four banger. But I would overlook the engine if you made a Land Cruiser where we could take the top off. I would immediately order one. And while you’re at it, give us a 6 speed manual transmission.
Cheers to the design team and everyone that worked on these builds. You brought the fun!
Midgates need to be more of a thing, especially in the small and mid-size pickups
Love it! Scared of the price tag but they might get it from me.
I mean it's not like the last Land cruiser was exactly cheap... This would probably still be a bargain by comparison
@@markcoopers1930 the LC200 ,Toyota only sold the top top luxury trim as other world markets had more basic base utilitarian models cloth seat ,steelies , think Toyota did not want to take way sequoia sales ,now a 1958 version of this so we can kit it the way we like
I like how Roman and Andre were excited as many of us are. They did a great job with this LC! Now Toyota needs to send some better people next time, some real enthusiasts, these two Toyota guys are acting like their shit don’t stink. I noticed Andre caught it too. Clean ride Toyota, just send better reps next time, these jacks belong behind a desk. As always great video Roman and Andre! 🤙🏼
Roman and Andre, Someone is obliged to remind you an affordable, 2 door 70 Series is in production today. Would it not be easier to upgrade the 70 series for global markets than retool 250 Series production facilities to build this? I would also like to see Toyota resume production of the 2 door Prado which they built for decades.
Thing is, it takes a body that meets US crash regs. In order to do that, you get something like the 250 or 300. I highly doubt that they could modify a 70 enough to pass. Lot more to it now than a 5 mph bumper. Now, could they offer us a bare-bones stripped version of the 250 and 300 now? Seems like they could and do in some places.
@@donleamon8653 At this moment the Prado is in production with 2.7 2TR-FE gasoline engine and the 300 is being built with the 4.0 1GR-FE V6. The 'stripped' 300 sells for around $60K overseas and I have not yet seen a price for the 'bare-bones' Prado.
Drove my 93’ SR5 for 20 years and loved it. Didn’t like the direction Toyota was headed and I never considered owning one since. This may have changed my mind.
Yall are dreaming if you think Toyota is going to make a production suv with factory 37s! When or if this thing comes out it will have 33s, no front locker, and the new unreliable standard that is toyota turbed engines.
Why all the negative energy son🤔
@atg1338 why no front recovery hooks on the TRD Pro Tundra....
@bengarcia1091 Did i design it? Pretty sure i didn't... is that all you got ?
And those half doors are totally impractical IMO
@@Doze320I mean that’s kind of the point. This is not a daily driver concept.
Love my 2022 Bronco Manual, but this looks really awesome. I doubt they will offer a manual, but it will be fun to see if they build it!
Yes.
The FJ Cruiser was originally only a concept car debuted at the 2003 North American International Auto Show. The response was so overwhelmingly positive that they decided to build the damn thing.
If there's enough excitement for this, there is precedent for Toyota to take it to production. IF they do, though, you can definitely expect to pay $20k over MSRP at any dealership.
This is a big if! Look what happened to the Supra. Come on Toyota take a risk once in a while.
What I have wanted for years. Been a Toyota fan for a long time. Have wished they would put out a convertible 4x4. Now, it could be here. I am at a point in my life, i could actually probably afford it.
Toyota, are you listening?
Build it, PLEASE!!
The Roman's excitement 🙂... I don't expect anything less
That looks awesome. Looking to buy a Bronco now and would certainly be interested, especially with the bed! Unfortunately Toyota is usually too slow for this concept to make it to market anytime soon.
3:33 The exhibit owners saying "be careful" as they see an asscrack touch the supple leather
this has got to be the next FJ !! It looks amazing!!
