Hmm, I wonder which is more terrifying. The original backrooms where you slowly starve to death; or the current backrooms, where you just go insane as you are trapped forever going through an almost infinite number of rooms.
i mean... with starving to death atleast you get the sweet release of death at one point with gong insane trapped forever you can never escape the insanity, never to die it seems
I don’t believe I’ve actually heard anyone mention this, but I’ve noticed how some creators hear “human like sounds” coming from this creature. After listening further, the creature is actually saying what was written on the wall: “Don’t move, stay still.” However, it seems to say only “Don’t move” most of the time.
And the new video just confirms that it mimics a human calling out for help to lure people to their demises, similar to how some predators get their prey

I am terrified of how the Backrooms fandom will become once The Game Theorist makes a theory about this. This is such a good concept for a full on fledged video game with like over hundreds of rooms that you can travel too.
See's the Sonic Fandom began making their own room ideas by adding a room that has something to do with you being in the Sonic world, breaks the entire idea of the game.
Fun fact: The backroom actually exists in your unconscious mind. You can play it by commencing a psychological game called “Red door, purple door, yellow door”. Psychologists use this activity to help their patients.
Nope, a quick Google search only turns up it being a ritual pasta/spooky game to play at sleepovers. Some say it's based on hypnotherapy, but I find that doubtful at best. Even if it is, hypnosis only works if you let it work, even then I'd argue it's just the placebo effect. There is zero evidence of this being anything more than a fake internet ritual for fun, let alone anything to do with real, actual psychology or psychotherapy. No academic journals, no peer reviewed papers, not even a Wikipedia article. If you have proof I'd love to see it.
@@Ironbrother4782 back rooms windows are actually really dangerous, they are more like portals than anything else, and most of the time have dangerous entities behind them which can kill you

Unpopular opinion, I hate horror. Now, popular opinion, I love horror. Confused? I figured. Let me explain. I hate slasher/gore horror. It makes me just turn away from the screen in disgust. It isn't fun, it isn't cool, it isn't creative. It's lazy. "Let's just throw a guy with a chainsaw in front of the viewers and have him disembowel someone". It's lazy and overused. It uses the shock factor instead of ambiance and setting. THIS. This right here. This is so different. I love the use of setting and sound. The Backrooms are a perfect representation of human fear. They are huge. Confusing. Bizarre. Unfamiliar, yet familiar. They ooze uncomfort. The first level ALONE is a perfect example. (I could talk about other levels, but level 1 is a great start. The levels are all the same in their perfection, yet so different from one another). The first level. Damp carpets, which equal awful smell, wet feet, and overall discomfort. Fluorescent lights, which equal a madness inducing buzz, they're WAY too bright, and just add to the discomfort. And an endless maze of ugly yellow wallpaper. The feeling of never needing to eat/sleep/drink. The feeling of being in a bizarre nightmare...where you never wake up. It's so bloody brilliant. Even the entities. They are distorted and nightmarish. Instead of a psycho with an axe. The Backrooms are just. Brilliant. THIS is true horror!
