Blue runners love the banana pompano style wacky rigs with an additional stinger hook about a foot up the line on a dropper loop. Pre rig on 25 lb mono.
Great video. I’m not throwing a cast net yet so catching bait at the north jetty for now. How far out do you have to go for Blue Runners? Is 9 mile or MR a good distance?
This video was extremely helpful to me, thanks so much @ReelHazardous for making this video. Just three days ago actually i caught my first ever king mackerel it was probably about 20 pounds. So I started to scour the internet looking for more helpful tips and tricks and I ran into you. Just wanted to say thanks again for such a helpful video. Also, if you have any tips for me, as I am new to king fishing, that would be extremely helpful, I fish out Ocean Isle so anything would help because i am such a rookie. Things like water depth, skirts, rigs, etc would help a ton, thanks again!
Yeah, I don't remember the name of the guy who brings them up but he only does it during tournaments. He lives in South Florida and catches them their a tows a large live well with them in it up here. For a normal day of fishing you would have to catch them on your own.
Hello my friend im from mexico and im your fan and suscriptor🤗 ...who type of hooks are you using to fish the king fish? here on caribbean sea i fish the king fish at night whith a alive yellow tail and snapper.but its really hard to catch them😓😓
Thanks Ricardo! I use an owner j hook (3/0 or 4/0) and a #4 treble hook usually for the bigger blue runners. Those sizes should work for yellowtail too.

Was hopping you'd show how you rigged the blue runner for trolling kings. Otherwise, excellent video

What size is the penn international you were using ?
That was a penn 20.
Do you use wire and two treble hooks or J hooks?
We use 7 stand and mostly j hook and treble but sometimes we'll use double treble.
Your very underrated honestly
Thank you!
Reel Hazardous no problem
Nice sir
Thank you!
Nice video
Thanks!
Is this recent
No this was back in the summer.
Your title is a little deceiving. You didn't show how you're hooking the blue runners
