Great video. The console might just be the Amiga CD32 or even the Atari jaguar but I'm hoping for a Atari 130xe (prob just e alone). Just as a heads up Pimega 4 is due to be ready soon, with a pc image soon as well, not to mention exodos 6 (1tb of space needed)
An Atari Jaguar mini is up to Digital Eclipse if they want to make one. But as a 90s kid at heart, I would like an Atari Jaguar retro console or mini I would like it to use original Atari Jaguar cartridges just like what the Atari 2600+ is doing for both the 2600 and 7800 cartridges.
Lets hope they dont just put an amiga mini board in a maxi case, with FPGA and the availability of different Motherboards now we could have a full size full compatible Amiga 500/1200. Now that would be cool and worth waiting for.
This is pretty cool and I'm really curious to see their other announcements and products. I have a bit of an odd question I'm hoping you might be able to help me with. If I remember correctly (and I really hope I do and apologize in advance if I'm wrong) you enjoyed the Alien Breed games. They came up in the A500 Mini and the Evercade collection and I think you had positive things to say in both videos. Do you have any suggestions on maybe which if any is more friendly for someone just getting into them? I want to like these games but feel like I just spend my time wondering around and dying a lot while making very, very little progress. Is that just the nature of these games? Or maybe I should find some walkthroughs to get started? Or maybe one of them is a little more straightforward (and gives you a map)? I play them through Antstream Arcade so I have access to all of them and maybe my problem is playing a little of each and not just diving into one? I appreciate any guidance you can provide as they seem to be popular, interesting games and I want to give them a fair chance. Thanks Crazy Burger!
All of the games are pretty tough to be honest. There is definitely a lot of aimless wandering about.. save states definitely help.. possibly best going with Tower Assault. There's good guides here that also has cheats. gamefaqs.gamespot.com/cd32/952218-alien-breed-tower-assault/faqs/80112/cheats
They forgot to mention the Spectrum they brought out first with the hardwired AV cable and just a few keys with memory slot, i can see why it was a bit of a joke but that joke kick-started all this
I think the a500 maxi will just have an sd card slot built in where the disk drive goes with an adaptor to make it look like a disc has been inserted. Cant wait to see what the next console will be although with the spectrum next out I would be very surprised, amstrad I dont think has the following to warrant a release, possible cd23 but whats the point when the mini can emulate the a1200 essentially the same thing. it wont be anything sega or nintendo as their ip is still lucrative to them. hmm its a tough one I look forward to seeing what it is, thank you for you tutorial vids on the a500 mini, they really helped me with the whd load and the problem i had with not all my games showing up in one folder, all the best from the south west.
Love the completely unintelligable dialog at the beginning of their trailer. "Retro games. Somfink which reminds us of our youf, of happy memories. wlzlzl DREAM blblw WORLD that couldn't now be?" No time for a second take? 🤣 Also a trailer for a mostly "We'll tell you later" list

There’s no point of a Speccy unless it has a working keyboard. Games really need hassle free key presses. The original cases and keyboards are super cool. There’s a new Speccy emulation only main board on the way, that fits Speccy 48k cases, but alas no keyboard support. Speccy games really do need keyboard inputs, more so than C64. A segaMs would be nice, albeit branding would be a major issue. Retro Games had an easy job branding their c64 as the 64” -it was a no brainier workaround, but a touch harder for Sega machines. Interesting times.
It’s disappointing if it’s not out this year. Although it’s not without its faults, especially the Pandory mod on it, I do like the mini’s potential, as I said before. Not sure if I would buy a new Maxi Amiga as I have the mini.

I was surprised recently to see a new Firmware 1.2.1 for the A500Mini. I came really close to selling mine after piss poor communication from them about coming updates. The bugs they fixed are cool, but I'm unsure about testing it yet. I don't want to loose the workaround for HDF. This shows that maybe they'll finally get HDF internal support and fix the problem with NOT saving WHDLoad options. What would be fantastic is PPC support with Wap3D support. WinUAE is doing extremely well but the PPC support really needs to be fixed. Which isn't Tony's fault.
really nice, but i do prefer the mini over it for easy storage....i am more interested in the AMIGACD32 mini since i do own that one and would love a mini next to it, this whole fad of mini and maxi is not that nice, reminds me of the PRO versions of the playstations....but hey, people want it so it is good.

I was really dissapointed with the A500 Mini it came with a very average selection of built in games and 40-50% of games dont work or play right on WHDLoad / ADF. Not to mention the very minimal support they have given with regards to firmware updates and that terrible CD32 style joypad.
I don't think the mini console will be a Spectrum. There are so many Spectrum projects out there in the market from the NEXT to clones like NGO and Xberry Pi to handheld project like TZX Touch. Nobody would be interested. Anyone who wants a real Spectrum already have one and it's original form factor is already mini in size. For the machines after Amiga, i would predict an Atari ST is imminent. I would love to have a full size BBC micro as well.
They consider these devices consoles because they are primarily games machines first, computers as a distant second. They probably have market research that would suggest that 95% of the people who will buy them will buy them to play games only, not run any other computer specific tasks. Under that, you can understand the focus to be on console rather than retro computer.
Full size is abit too much. 3/4 scale with a perfect replica of the Quickshot II turbo. ( I had the OG joystick that you get with the maxi. It was nothing like this pile of horse manure. It had a solid metal shaft, while a bit stiff it always finished leaving a smile on ya face)

Totally agree.
I still feel the major product update relates to a new firmware update maybe for the A500 mini
Who knows.. we will find out soonish.
full size amiga working keyboard??
Later this year probably
@@CrazyBurger I am saving already
@@CrazyBurger Thank you. I will try that.
when will the full size Amiga 500 come out ? does any 1 know? thanks.............
Watch the video
Sam coupe mini with spectrum compatibility plz ❤
Cheers mate, all the best. Agree with everything you're saying here.
an A1200 with gfx-card emulation would be nice...not that big thing on the table
Love the completely unintelligable dialog at the beginning of their trailer. "Retro games. Somfink which reminds us of our youf, of happy memories. wlzlzl DREAM blblw WORLD that couldn't now be?" No time for a second take? 🤣
Also a trailer for a mostly "We'll tell you later" list
For a minute I thought you were talking about me.. yeah I see what you mean, I did initially think that was an interesting choice for a voice over. Though I'm hardly in a position to make fun of accents and intelligible talking..
I'm in Detroit. I can understand you perfectly file. Keep up the good work!@@CrazyBurger
@@labnine3362 lol thanks but I'm pretty sure its the voice over to Retro Games Trailer.. I thought it was me initially.. which wouldn't be unheard of 😆
@@CrazyBurger hah sorry for the confusion! Nah you're always fine with me!
They should make it in A1200 case and size, not A500 case
There’s no point of a Speccy unless it has a working keyboard. Games really need hassle free key presses. The original cases and keyboards are super cool. There’s a new Speccy emulation only main board on the way, that fits Speccy 48k cases, but alas no keyboard support. Speccy games really do need keyboard inputs, more so than C64. A segaMs would be nice, albeit branding would be a major issue. Retro Games had an easy job branding their c64 as the 64” -it was a no brainier workaround, but a touch harder for Sega machines. Interesting times.
Very good point there.. emulating spectrum is generally a pain due to the heavy keyboard use in many games.. maybe it's not that..
It’s disappointing if it’s not out this year. Although it’s not without its faults, especially the Pandory mod on it, I do like the mini’s potential, as I said before. Not sure if I would buy a new Maxi Amiga as I have the mini.
Id get it but only if i could sell the A500 mini ... but i dont think they sell for much on ebay. Also will the maxi just have tonnes of issues like the mini had
@@SecretOfMonkeyIsland784 - What issues have you had with it? I thought that all issues were updated out of it besides the poor gamepad compatibility which I believe was intentional to sell more proprietary gamepads and joysticks...
@@JohnnyProctor9 About 40/50% of WHDLoad games just go to a Amiberry screen on bootup, other games like 'Space Harrier' despite emulater tweaks run far to fast so are unplayable. The button mapping and individual game save setup is also overly complicated. Whats good is a shorter list
@@SecretOfMonkeyIsland784 - Have you updated your firmware? Most of the speedup was fixed in the patches from my experience...
@@JohnnyProctor9 To the best of my knowledge i am using the latest firmware, i dont think they have issued many since release (Only 2-3). Games like: Dgeneration, GoldenAxe, Turrican2, CarierCommand are just some that dont load.
What about the price ? any idea ?
@@patricktamine8981 not yet. It's due Q1 2025. I'd expect it to be over £100 for sure.
When software is "dropped" from what height is it dropped from? It used to be that software was released to people. Rather than dropping it on the ground somehow. Ha, ha, ha, ha!!
I would love the A500 maxi use old Amiga floppy disks. Just like what the Atari 2600+ is doing using the original cartridges (both the original 2600 and 7800 cartridges) I want Retro Games to let use the original Amiga Floppies on the full-size A500.
Full Size Amiga what? A 1000 would be cool. Aren't we due for a Mini Atari 800?
Now that bit isn't quite clear yet.. and what's coming next is anyones guess.
I would like to complete transform into year 1987.
I was really dissapointed with the A500 Mini it came with a very average selection of built in games and 40-50% of games dont work or play right on WHDLoad / ADF. Not to mention the very minimal support they have given with regards to firmware updates and that terrible CD32 style joypad.
I'm actually quite surprised we didn't get more firmware updates and support. Thankfully we've had some great efforts from Aminimiga, AGS and Pandory.
Please let us use old joysticks. Not just the usb ones.
Mmm.. I wonder if they'll do that.. I'd be surprised if they do.
Why does it says "full size CONSOLE"?
Dunno. Is that their term for a computer or will it actually be a mini console like an Atari Jag or something? Hard to say.
They consider these devices consoles because they are primarily games machines first, computers as a distant second. They probably have market research that would suggest that 95% of the people who will buy them will buy them to play games only, not run any other computer specific tasks. Under that, you can understand the focus to be on console rather than retro computer.
I want a BBC Micro micro...
That might give me nightmares and memories of High School..
1:14 um.... Q1 2025: CD32 Maxi ???
What about the Atari 400... Huh.. what's that? Very sad.
AND it never happened...
@@ΛΟΥΚΑΣΜΠΕΡΤΖΟΒΙΤΗΣ End of this year was the proposed date
i refuse to play all those consoles on hdmi.
Overly dramatic music is overly dramatic. Sheesh Retro Games, you are putting out toys, not curing cancer :)
😆 lol its a bit over dramatic.
Ah ah ah, yeah, I thought it was a joke.
I have no interest in minis. I'd much rather have something full size, TRUE full size.
