If i you have something on you that isnt secured naturally and as closely to you body, may it be a bag, back pack, no matter how light it is, it will stress you.
But if you keep it close to you body, with the weight distributed evenly to the surface of your body, it will become one. Makes sense?

@@eatyourcereal7257 His points are bad but devtac does have its advantages. It's kinda situational: Do you need as much protection against frags or pistols? If yes for example in anti-terrorism or anti-crime scenarios, sure devtac is better than a regular fast helmet. In firefight against ISIS in Syria or Russians? Nope, that thing will only slow you down and wont save you from AK bullets.
Both are situational but not ideal, the military helmet is geared more towards shrapnel. Both have similar ballistic ratings with a slight edge going to Ronin, however, a single bullet is likely to detach the panels, leaving you vulnerable as well as more weak points in the helmet. Get a good level 3a helmet and armor it up with curved ceramic tile. Very few helmets are rifle rated but the ones put there are about a third of the price of the Ronin. A helmet that protects better is the ultimate choice. Heavier, yes, but the head is a very critical point needing protection.

On one hand the devtac has better coverage, better balance and smaller overall profile but the military issue one has a far better field of view and the helmet section is made of UHMWPE instead of the kevlar devtac which is inferior in terms of protection. In the great words of Thomas Sowell: "There are no solutions, only trade offs"
Anyone who’s ever worn night vision knows the migraine that army issue helmet would cause even without the NVGs

Ce sera probablement classé comme étant la première génération. Les suivantes auront une protection totale sans visière avec une vue extérieur fournie par du matériel optique, une protection accoustique et peut-être un filtre accoustique pour entendre les coups de feu et en même temps les bruits à proximité. La suivante sera entièrement fermé et prendra toute la tête avec des caméra autour du casque ainsi que des micros pour pouvoir fournir une vue à 360 avec une information sur la direction des tirs ou informations tactiques. Pouvoir atténuer les tirs, entendre les bruits proches, parler dans le micro sans être entendu de l'extérieur et pourvoir entendre les coms nettement. Après pour ce qui est de la vue c'est cher et l'utilité ne justifie pas le coût.

Level 3A using Carbon Nanotube tech from Citizen Armor providing the bulletproof protection aspect with the Helmet itself made from Devtac.... That would be a helmet I’d be excited to see.
Cause nobody can make a helmet like Devtac.
And nobody can make Level 3A waterproof bullet resistant carbon nanotube light weight fabric like Citizen armor. (At least last I checked a few months ago)

Why not have a full visor? Seems like the Ronin has severe visibility loss for no real reason.
Instead of 2 separate pieces just make it have hinges, you have to be able to throw a helmet on and go fast. I grantee if you made it a 1 piece with hinges you’d get noticed by military’s.

sounds like you haven't been trained in how to properly adjust the helmet. Your comparison isnt fair since you took your helmet manidible off. Modern helmets have an adjustable head harness and pads. which i can see on the military one and they are sized. Your helmet is too big for your head, or it isnt adjusted properly, or you need to put in the extra padding blocks. that harness at the back is to adjust to your nook at the back of your skull. it keeps the helmet from falling forward when adjusted properly. I love the style of your helmet, but as I see its two parts, my concern is how a force hit is distributed within the helmet and not your head. Helmets now adays have three parts. a firefighting helmet for instance, has an outer hard shell, inner soft shell, and a head suspension harness, keeping the helmet from directly touching your head. a force hit distributes the force thru the shell, keeping it from transferring to your skull, ie no concusion. how is the force of a hit not transferred to the skull in your design?

Both can, they just aren’t rated for it.
At distances they can stop direct fire from a rifle at close range they can stop ricochet and grazing shots help deflect the round away. So that's the point. They can stop shotguns at close range. U walk into a room and u get shot in the face with 12 gauge buck shot ur gonna be happy u wore ur devtec helmet.

Ok so a friend of mine sent me this which is the first time iv ever heard of you and For someone that’s been shot multiple times had my lung collapsed a few times I’m actually intrigued. Iv done a lot of security work and the fact that a full face mask can withstand a 44 mag is quite amazing. So my question is do I order directly from the site cause the site names no prices or anything . Iv found a few on google but non of them are level 3 . Should I just contact the website to order or is there a site I can get it from I’m not aware of ? It seems that the helmet is in the 13- 1500 dollar range that’s peanuts compare to the bulky helmets and vests and suits made of Kevlar Iv paid a arm and leg for over the years. Let me know I literally just looked this up . I’m Japanese and I’m damn proud of this product

Layman thinking here, but is there a way to put a hinge or something similar in the helm so you can open and close it without taking it completely apart? It seems like something that can be difficult to put back on in the middle of a s**tshow.

How can I buy one?
The newer military helmets like the ECH and IHPS can stop non armor piercing rifle calibers. I doubt the DEVTAC can so I’d chose the military one.
The devtac can. They tested it against, an automatic shotgun, a 22 rifle, a desert eagle at point blank range, a sawed off shotgun, and they did an automatic extendo mag Glock 17. Which it stood 10 rounds before the kinetic energy transfer went to the head inside and 15 before it broke.

However I can see why the US military would use that over the ronin. However apparently the military's Navy seals as well as other SF personnel did recently adopt it. Not sure if it's true though
