FINALLY, the first freaking video with capture of the vertical filming. Like wtf, I have watched over a dozen reviews, and no one has talked about it. It is literally the only feature I really care about.
I just saw this at Best Buy the other day. I liked the sound of how it is as I only have a Logitech C910 webcam. The cam is ok but it's about 7 years old now and I want to get a little more current with the recordings. Planning on fixing up my room with a focus on streaming so this is right up my alley I think! not bad quality and interesting features, but the subject seems a bit blurry, I don't know if it is a focus issue or simply the image quality, or even youtube compression for anything 1080p and below.
A lot of us make TH-cam guitar videos and would like a tip on how to take our audio into Logic or Garageband and loudness normalize the level to -16 LUFS. Could you take the audio in this video (from 8:07 to 8:53) and tell or show us how? Thank you. An extra bonus would be to tell us or show us how to use the compressor plugin.
Hey Mark! Thanks for the video - super informative. Did your Plus come with two mounts? I received the one mount that clips onto a screen, and a tripod. Can’t seem to figure out how to mount to the thread on the tripod - I suspect the seller forgot to include the second mount. Secondly, what do you mean by “can’t select audio source with two cameras”? Are you unable to use an external mic when running 2 cameras? Thanks so much! - Kris

Tim, yes you can set the destination to save the files to any location. It records a single file so no, you can't edit separate angles as a Multicam clip. The product is really targeted towards folks getting into streaming on TH-cam where you aren't doing any post.
I could not use this camera at 60 fps because the usb c to usb 3.0 adapter does not work. I can use the camera fine using the 2.0 port, but I can only run it at 30 fps. This is a major issue if you have to use an adapter.
I'm guessing when you say it doesn't stream to TH-cam on the Mac that it doesn't stream at all i.e. Facebook. Just looking to buy a streaming camera, thanks for the video
It can stream anywhere if you use the right software that supports streaming. Their Capture software currently doesn't support streaming but will in a future update.

Great question, Troy! Yes it can record from both at the same time, I just tested it. However, they are mixed down to a stereo pair so you can't adjust them independently in post.
@@markspencer3104 So I guess you have to make sure you don't talk while something is on the screen or make sure the audio is adjusted properly on both channels while recording. Sounds like an awesome camera and program though. Would you say the video quality is better than an iphone x using the selfie camera?
@@TroyShaw I'd say it's comparable - I prefer it because it mounts and adjust so easily plus using the software to control adding titles, changing cameras, etc.
All web cam software lags video behind audio by a few frames - I've tested many of them. It's in the same range as Quicktime Player and FaceTime for example.
I hate to be a stick in the mud, but is there some auto-ducking going on with the audio in some spots? It sounds extremely staccato with the no-fade jumps to -∞ and back. 9:29 - 10:58 is a good example. It's really fatiguing to listen to.
@@markspencer3104 Don't be hard on yourself there's no way anyone can talk like that. The audio from your other angles/mics is fine. Check it out with headphones. There is no room tone between some words/sentences. It's not your pausing, it's the audio levels abruptly going away and cutting off the first part of the new word/sentence. It's definitely going to -infinity and back A LOT. I can see it in the waveform as well.
@@GameSack I was actually wondering the same thing. 😄 But I only hear it at the end. Some of the t's are truncated. But since it clearly wasn't the camera's mic, I think it's safe to say it wasn't the camera's fault? But then FCP doesn't have auto-ducking. Hmmm… overly strict limiter maybe?
@@GameSack You are correct I went back and looked at the project - there was some distinct background noise from the furnace that I removed with a noise gate filter - not great but better than the alternative.
Hi, I am using Zoom on a Macbook Pro (Catalina 10.15.7) for work purposes. Yesterday I received a Streamcam and installed Capture. I'm aware that Capture is a BETA version. Unfortunately, it's not responding with the Streamcam correctly - there's been times when the whole screen has been green, it's frozen or the white balance level isn't affecting the camera when altered. I have managed to use the camera on Zoom without using Capture, but I'm not able to change the image settings of the camera without it. I have got Capture working with Zoom but the above issues arise. I have also tried Ghub, which doesn't recognise the camera. Are you able to offer some advice before I return it? Many thanks.

What USB C female to USB 3.0 male would you suggest for the stream cam. Most on Amazon say it can’t support video.

Tim, yes you can set the destination to save the files to any location. It records a single file so no, you can't edit separate angles as a Multicam clip. The product is really targeted towards folks getting into streaming on TH-cam where you aren't doing any post.

2:35 PSA also never use built in mics for recording. Go get a blue yeti snowball at minimum. Built in mics never sound good.

Can you record one cam in portrait and one in landscape at the same time? Can you control the SW using Sidecar?
Yes, you can mix and match portrait and landscape orientations at the same time. Don't know about Sidecar, don't have an iPad! Good idea though.
What about lag I'm 'live-view'? It does not seem to be much lag between audio/video on your video. So hopefully that won't be an issue.

It's really just the way I talk when I'm improvising instead of reading from a script - I pause like that.
