    Finally! Someone has the sense to do a detailed video on a parts install. So many dummies just show the product they are installing then show the finished product. It's nice to see someone take the time to show what exactly needs to be done to get something like this accomplished. Great job guys!!!

    What size drill you used? No silicone needed? Any issues in the rain? Did it actually helped cooling the interior?

      I can't remember the drill bit we used, it was in the instructions of the install instructions. No issues with rain or car washes. It does help with cooling the engine bay. I find in the winter it does help very little with the windshield and the hood is always clear of snow and ice.

    Did you measure your under hood temps before and after?

    • @homeguy4
      @homeguy4  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Someone OutThere Hello, no I didn’t measure any hood temps. The fan doesn’t seem to come on as much, that’s the only thing I’ve noticed.

    Strongly considering getting this for my 4Runner. Some modifications will more than likely have to be done due to this only being for Jeeps, but I think it will work out.

    Cutting into the hood seemed pretty loud at 8:38 .... Doing this outside in the yard, is it loud enough to bother the neighbors?

    • @homeguy4

      Chuck's Busy Hello Chuck, I’ve got good neighbors. I’ve never had anyone complain. They usually come over and see what I’m doing.

    Hey, when you guys painted the hood cut out.. Did you use primer before using the touch up paint?

      +Chuck's Busy I didn’t. I’ve had no problem yet and it’s been 4 years

    Would there be any way you can give me the size on that louver ? I have a 93 yj and the one they make for my year jeep is different than that one but I want to get this one instead , except my jeep has a rise on the hood in the middle part so I want to see if this one fits flushed with the rise on my hood, if you can give me the sizes that would be awesome , if possible mesure it from the width on the top of the louver and the bottom as well , as far the length any aside would s fine , thank you in advance

      At the front of the hood it's 22", widest part at the top is 30" and the narrow part at the top or closest to the windshield is 23". Hope that helps

    Did you have any problems with the louver flexing when putting in the hardware?

    • @homeguy4
      @homeguy4  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, no the louver is I think a heavier gauge than the hood.

    • @dvnwnd07
      @dvnwnd07 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +HOMEGUY I kind of asked that in reverse. Did tightening the louver cause the hood to flex at all? I'll assume it didn't with your reply. thank you!

    Huge question, what happens if water goes in?

    • @homeguy4
      @homeguy4  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no concern with the water that gets in the engine bay. I regularly spray my engine bay out, covering the air intake. Thanks for watching.

    • @scootersound
      @scootersound 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      HOMEGUY care to elaborate s little more?? Spraying the engine bay isn't my concern, sitting water and winter snow is mine,.. where does the water lay?

    • @homeguy4
      @homeguy4  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have the cover on my engine, I park inside at night and during the day, I've never had a problem of water sitting on the engine, or that I've noticed. The engine gets hot pretty quick and would evaporate all the moisture that got in there.

    • @kristiancastillothegreenje1395
      @kristiancastillothegreenje1395 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a Jk 07, I know that the new jks have a cover on the engine bay. So, still I don't have to be concern about water getting in?

    • @homeguy4
      @homeguy4  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Kristian, I wouldn't worry about the amount of water that may go in the engine bay. I've never had any issues. It's been raining lots here the last couple of days and no issues with my Jeep.

      No, the temp gauge didn't change that much, I do notice that the fan comes on way less.
