Pag na offload ka, magfile ka ng kaso laban sa immigration officer na nag offload sayo kasi meron kang constitutional right na liberty to abode, freedom to travel at hindi pwede ma deprive yun ng walang due process. Pag meron kang passport, required visa at saka walang hold departure order laban sayo, walang karapatan ang immigration officer na pigilan ka, obligado silang payagan ka umalis. Unacceptable yung human trafficking excuse na dahilan dahil innocent until proven guilty. Kung sinabi ng immigration officer na sa tingin niya hindi ka na babalik okaya human trafficker ka kaya ka i o offload at wala silang ebidensya, speculation lang yan. Innocent until proven guilty.
Walang discretionary powers ang immigration officers. Background check? What the heck? Hindi trabaho ng immigration officers yan. Dana, mas marunong pa ba yung immigration officers niyo kaysa sa mga consular officers, pati narin sa US consular officers?
1:45-1:52 ang function ng immigration officer ay ministerial function, hindi discretionary function.
5:12, 6:45 and 6:53 financial capabilities and job occupation? Anong kalokohan ito? Ministerial nga ang function ng immigration officer, hindi discretionary function eh. Kung pwede kayo mag offload ng pasahero based lang sa mere suspicion okaya speculation, edi ano pa ang silbi ng hold departure order ng korte? Pag may discretionary power ang immigration officer, edi maabuso yan, paano kung may personal na galit yung immigration officer sa pasahero? Hindi kayo consular officer. Yung mga background check and financial check na yan ay ginawa na yun sa visa application. Marunong pa kayo sa consular officer at embassy o consulate na nag approve ng visa sa pasahero?

True . Every Pilipino has the right to travel as long as he has a VALID PASSPORT , VALID PLANE TICKET & NO HOLD DEPARTURE ORDER FROM THE COURT. Only the court can issue hold departure order .

Exactly! And to Dana: where in the constitution does it say that IOs can offload passengers based on their “perceived red flags”?? Or based on their demeanor? Or whatever that BS is. You cannot decide to stop someone from traveling just because you don’t believe their real intent. Someone can be nervous or rattled or tired - but it doesn’t mean they’re already lying.

The immigration clearance should be done 1 week before departure to insure that travelers can change their flights in case problems arise with clearance, should not be done on the day of departure and definitely not in the airport to avoid long lines and waiting time and have a smooth departure. I feel so bad those who missed their flights and lost money, only done in the Philippines, think about it?

Philippines becoming like North Korea. Filipinos should have right to travel without being interrogated as long as they have valid passport, plane ticket and no hold departure order. Let the host or receiving country deal the rest. Asking for complete iterinary and advance hotel bookings ruins the fun especially if you are just backpacking like around Asia where you just wing it as you go.

The issue about the Israel traveler, on spending an additional 20k to rebook, was never really given justice. The question raised was not elaborate enough, which is why Dana, the interviewee, gave the same answer over and over.
What should've been asked was, what's the accountability of the Phl Immigration on the extra charge the traveler incurred? Will they pay the traveler the 20k back?
Some questions were not fully addressed. The interviewee answered eloquently and she only responds based on the questions thrown. So if the questions are not direct or unclear, then you can only expect results with the same content - indirect and unclear.

Ako din wala naman na experience na hirap sa IO usually tinatanong nila ako kung kelan ako babalik sa pilipinas or kung magbabakasyon ba ako ulit sa pilipinas. Ganun lang tapos pakpakpak na sa passport ko layas na agad . Nakaka awa lang tlga yung mga natatapatan na na offload tpos hindi naman dapat. Malaki nagagastos kc nyan.di naman naibabalik yung pinambayad sa ticket saka sa mga bookings nila usually kc pag nag tour ka karaniwan nom refundable na pag yung araw na mismo na un ang pag check in mo kaso dika nga nakarating. Yung mamasyal ka na lang nag ipon ka naleche pa pati pera mo luhaan ka pa.
Year 2011, I was also offloaded at Cebu Immigration. It was a horrible experience. The IO just mentioned to me to rebooked my flight.
The BI officer must pay back in full . The fact na several occasions bumalik to remind the passenger mag sasara na un gate para sa flight na un. still the lady passenger di pa nirelease ng BI officer.

Human trafficking is our No.1 problem today kaya medyo abot abot ang concern natin dito bilang isang bansa. May mga nagtatanong na pwede bang dumaan muna sa approval nang immigration bago bumili ng plane ticket, hotel reservation, events ticket etc?
Karapatan ng bawat Pilipino ang bumiyahe. Bakit mo isusuggest na humingi muna ng approval sa BI bago bumili ng plane ticket, etc? Eh di lalong lalakas ang loob ng mga immigration officers na manghingi ng lagay! 🙄
