  • Market launch of the Rapida 106 X, generation 2020: Packaging Applications
During the Koenig & Bauer LIVE Weeks we proudly presented our new core product in sheetfed offset, the Rapida 106 X , a completely new dimension in sheetfed offset printing. The new design raises the impression of quality and brand perception to a whole new level.
Dirk Winkler, Director of Technology, Product Management and Product Marketing, will inform you about our comprehensive packaging portfolio.
This will be followed by the market launch of the new Rapida 76 - the current benchmark in the 50x70 cm / 29" format class and the most highly automated press for the production of high-quality packaging.
Afterwards, our workflow solutions for packaging printing will be briefly presented.
It is with great pleasure that Dirk Winkler now presents the new Rapida 106 X - the next dimension in sheetfed offset presses for packaging printing.
This is followed by a tour around the Rapida 106 X with Sascha Fischer, our Head of Product Management Sheetfed, information on the new cold foil system with multi-foil application (MFU) and indexing, insights into the even better design for less and easier maintenance, Rapida LiveApps and much more!

I miss the blue and white color scheme on the exterior of KBA machines.
I thought the new Rapida 106 was a machine from Heidelberg because of the light and dark gray colors of the press.
A missed opportunity to display the KBA colors of blue and white, but the new technology incorporated in the Rapida 106 looks great!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but you can't compare the "Rapida X" to anything else as it's not even been installed at customer sites yet.
This video shows the awesome ability of a brand new machine. cheers

We have an XM Heidi with seventeen printing units, two foilers and two coaters. It's down for repair constantly. Having said that, our KBAs are electrical nightmares. Our older Komori LSs never had "serious" issues, however, I would like to work on a Man Roland just for comparison.

@@KoenigundBauerAG It has nothing to do with your "X" machine itself.
The gentleman has worked with machines with different specs, he is comparing the Incomparable... Only the owner knows what he has bought, and with what budget.

Beautiful machine. Great demonstration and tour. Very impressive. It is too bad that even with these new press designs, there is not a positive ink feed capability. It is one of the potential significant technical areas for innovation in offset. Maybe next year. :-)

      Please explain further

    • @itbinktransferblade6057
      @itbinktransferblade6057 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@harrykekgmail Positive ink feed refers to a situation where the ink feed into the press is not affected by variables such as changes in water, roller train temperature, press speed, etc. Positive ink feed is a term Goss/Rockwell uses to describe their multipump ink feed systems.
Basically when positive ink feed is done right, it makes print density predictable and consistent. No need to make adjustments by an operator or a closed loop control system.
No modern press is feeding the ink into the roller train correctly now. This is mainly due to a lack of understanding of how the process actually works.

This was our goal ;). , when we started our re-branding process, back in 2016, from KBA to Koenig & Bauer. And during Koenig & BAuer LIVE we proudly released our sheetfed core product, our Rapida 106 X . An entire new dimension in sheetfed offset presses. The new design raises the quality impression and brand perception to a whole new level.
And: Our Rapida 106 X has been awarded the "Red Dot - Best of the Best", one of the most prestigious international design awards. We‘re so proud! #Rapida106X
