I really enjoy your work, especially when you put your own creative spins on things. Liked both of these masks, but the orange one is definitely the better one in my opinion.
Now every time I see foam chainmail I stare to my work table and kinda want to cry when I see that I have mutch mutch work left... Bc I decided to make full chainmail (with hood, chest, leggings and boots) and I do it with individual links D: it's a torture, but at the same time I love it and it's satisfying to see how good it's turning out to be :3
Wow. Never tried to make the real thing before. I would imagine it does a number of your hands. I would love to see some photos. Hit me up on Instagram or tag me in a post
Thanks for the menpo update Thomas. Will definitely be making one. I’d love to figure out how to make an extended one that covers my long beard. The joker mask I converted to a samurai menpo needs me to tuck the beard in. A longer one would be a fun build. Any easy fix thoughts would be appreciated. Keep up the good work ! Stay safe - Dave
As a fellow beardsman, I've found the best answer for masks of this style is to use cloth since it's flexible and doesn't interfere with tilting or turning your head. I use a soft fuzzy Velcro strip glued to the inside of the mask, and the harder hook side glued/stitched to the cloth used to hide/tuck-in my beard. That way the cloth can be removed and washed after a few uses. If you take a strip of terry cloth material and sew it to the side of the cloth that touches your face/neck, it also helps absorb chin sweat on hotter days.
If you extend the parts that go the middle, ie continuing the cheek pieces on the inside and the nose parts to meet it, you might be able to make more of a snout to tuck it in. My beard is not long so I don't really share it that problem.
Thanks gentlemen. I shall look at the suggestions. Still trying to develop a Gondor helm at present though for a family member commission (unpaid of course)
@@MuchProps used to wear the sub zero one to work at Walmart where I'm at people loved it. I have been wearing a lot of the menpos that you've designed here unfortunately because of the coin shortage I have to yell to people now about the self-checks only accepting cards so I can't wear my foam menpos.
Sweet revisit..but me thinks the template are the originals not the revamped ones.. what aboot doing a Crimson Guard Helmet or something Cobra-esk? Knowing is half the battle
Good catch. I copy the body of the description to save time and change the material and first couple sentences. I totally missed it. Template will be up tomorrow
Could always add your own little spin on another GUYvER, granted not THE MaCGYver, but it would be awesome-sauce! !!!! the anime one... Cool Menpos Thanks xx
Dude I love what you do but, not trying to be an ass, when I printed your templates for the Mortal Combat (Scorpion/Subzero) masks, they covered maybe a 1/4 of the paper. Maybe it wasn't your templates. Or maybe I did something wrong. I didn't save the file so I don't know if it was yours or not. I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for the template for this. Great job, keep up the good work! Can't wait to make some of these. I've never done anything like this before but, I'm pretty confidant I can do this.
10 mm is a little harder to shape with small parts like this mask. That's why I recommended the sizes on the template pieces. I mostly use 4-6mm for most helmets and masks. I use 10 mm on weapons and armor pieces.
@@MuchProps ah balls 😂 I know for next time now. First time using foam and your tutorial Inspired me to get into foam making and cosplay. Assumed any mm foam would do lol
Hi...Could you make the Firebreak mask(if you can also make the suit) it's from Call of duty, I want to copy how you do it for me to do it and wear it on halloween
As a die hard mortal kombat fan (seriously, my wife is utterly annoyed lol) I strongly appreciate these lessons and such.
Glad I could help. I like this newer version a lot more than my first. It fits the face a lot better. The customizations for this are endless.
The wood mask look awesome like it was carved!
I really like adding wood texture to foam. It is such a cool effect.
Super cool! Both are killer dig the Groot lines.
Thanks man. I was feeling the tree design. LOL.
Just started a Mortal Kombat cosplay project, and so far, so good! Can't wait to post up the results! Great plans too.
Good luck! Glad my template could help. Let me know how it goes.
I’m really liking these menpos! 👍🏼
Got some more coming soon
Loving the redesigns and all of the fun facts too with all of your builds. Thanks xx.
I like it a lot better than the original. Hugs the face better. Got some cool ideas for mods on this one
@muchProps i really love them both
@@MrNu1982 thanks. That orange one looks pret fierce
Cool. The wood grain looks awesome, but I like the orange one best. No rust paint though🙁. Lol. 👊👊
Pop's Prop Shop bruh
LOL. I figured people would get tired of my rusting up everything.
Muy bien. like.
😁 gracias
They look great Thomas. The wooden style one looks like it could be part of groot's family tree
LOL I can see that
Thank you so much for this great video! Can’t wait to make some of these with my son!!
You are so welcome! let me know how it goes.
TreMENdous work and video (as always), Tom! Keep that stuff COMING!!!
Thanks man. I'm having some fun with these mask builds
I really enjoy your work, especially when you put your own creative spins on things. Liked both of these masks, but the orange one is definitely the better one in my opinion.
I agree. I started making some other versions out of random materials and made some interesting takes
Simplemente archiqueterrecontra geniales FELICIDADES!
Gracias hombre. Me alegra que te guste. Tengo algunas versiones más próximamente.
Excelente 👍
You should do the Sakai Clan Mask from Ghost of Tsushima
Love the new look
I'm digging it a lot more than the old ones

Incredible work! Your work is just inspiring!!
🤗 so nice of you to say. Just having fun, being creative
@@MuchProps M👊P great job as always
These look great. I like to reuse patterns for differing things.
This will definitely be getting some reuse
Dude...you just earned a new subscriber. Your work is phenomenal!!
Welcome aboard! over 350 builds and a new one every Friday
Very cool build I love them
Thanks. Which do you like most?
Might try my hand at making a star wars themed menpo using this.
That would be pretty cool. Tag me in it if you do.
So far ! So Great ! Sir!
😆👊 thanks
Very very cool... "Yaayyyy!" I enjoy the mask making videos.
Got some more ideas with this one in the works. Using different materials
Now I have to re-make all my Mortal Kombat menpos with the new template!
LOL. I think this one is a much better shape and will be less bulky on the cheek and jaws
@@MuchProps Definitely! The new template looks awesome!

Love how you have changed the template and they look really cool. Have a good day
It was a bit bulky on the cheek area. And seeing my huge mask on an 8 year old is comical

Cenobyte mempo would be dope
Which one though?
The one with the saw blades or hooks there's so many to choose lol
You should do a video on how to make the locke & key keys!
We talked about that when we watched the series. I vote yes to that as well.
Seems that my wife agrees, so Mrs. MUCHPROPS is getting some keys 😆
Sweet revisit..but me thinks the template are the originals not the revamped ones.. what aboot doing a Crimson Guard Helmet or something Cobra-esk? Knowing is half the battle
Cobra helmets, especially Crimson Guard ones would be nice.

Olá, sou do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil , seu trabalho é lindo, parabéns!
Obrigado cara. É incrível ver o quão longe esses vídeos alcançam. Saudações do Texas.
Once again very cool!
Thanks man. I'm really digging the orange one. Might have to wear it to class when we start school back up
Both are pretty great. I was thinking about vader and storm trooper lower halfs. Fun stuff.
@@terrykitchen5214 i have free templates of both that you could use. Ive been thinking about a Vader one too
@@MuchProps that's exactly what I was thinking!
You should try making DC menpo masks like the flash or the swamp thing
I'd like to see a really Sci-Fi version of those.
I have an idea for one that may fall in that realm.
@@MuchProps Cool! Dude you are one of my favorite makers on you tube. Right up there with Evil Ted and Bill Doran.
Now I have a challenge got you, a Darth Vader face mask, while it can easily be 3D printed, nobody has been able to foam smith one,
I've made a full Vader helmet before
Luv the update to the mask your original mk menpo was the first thing i made from foam .how about redoing your cardboard predator helmet👊👍
Thanks. I've got some more ideas for this template
@@MuchProps cool cant wait to see them, think i prefer the orange and silver one
Badass bro 👍
thanks man
TOP parabéns
Obrigado. Eu acho que eles ficaram muito melhores do que minha primeira edição. É incrível o que um ano de experiência fará por você.
I plan on making a mask to perform in.
Are these breathable??
If you put vent holes in the front of them sure. They obviously don't create a seal on the sides so some air will vent around
@@MuchProps would the side grills provide enough air flow to breathe better or do I need a front vent too?
Show..muito bom....Brasil.
Obrigado. Fico feliz em saber que você gosta do que faço. Muito obrigado do Texas.
Could always add your own little spin on another GUYvER, granted not THE MaCGYver, but it would be awesome-sauce! !!!! the anime one... Cool Menpos Thanks xx
Someone else suggested that one. Not really familiar with anime. But I can always take a look.
Hmmm, why not make one out of either styrene or pvc? Would be interesting to see the process difference.
I've started making it out of some other materials that seem pretty cool.
I dont have a 3D Printer definitely got ideas for masks
Let me know how they turn out
Groot mask :D
LOL.
Do the old decorations parts work for the menpos
You could try but I redesigned the entire base build, decorative parts might not fit.
@@MuchProps I’ll give it a try

When you go to print look at the sale. Make sure it is full page or 100 percent. My templates are taped to a sheet of copy paper, 11 X 8.5 inches
@@MuchProps thank you!
Hmmm can You breath through the "wooden" one?
It doesn't make a tight seal around my mouth, so more like breath around. You could always add air holes if you needed.
Could you make "Smoke" Mortal Kombat 11 mask.
Im trying to make it from your template and I'm at a standstill when it comes to the mouth piece.
really all you would have to do is not cut the angled cuts around the mouth and recess the mouth a little behind the sides.
@@MuchProps Tried and I think I maybe using too thick of a foam. Im using 10mm. Ordered some foam clay to hopefully mould it to my face better

Full suits are kind of a big request that take a long time. I will look at the helmet though.
@@MuchProps ok:))
By adding raised areas to the flat area to give interest to the flat areas that's missing the whole idea of the flat area
I kind of think the more details the better. Especially when I am designing custom menpos of my own design in this build.
Halo menpo?
😆 lol
I tried this and can’t get my edges flush together 😭 gaps between the top join between mouth and jaw and a gap between cheek and top of the mouth 😩
The great thing about these mask are you can hide your mistakes and gaps with trim and detail pieces
How's about a kylo ren mask, but as you say using cardboard
Do you ever watch Dali Lomo? He has build a Kylo Ren out of cardboard. th-cam.com/video/AZ4uO8q3PT0/w-d-xo.html
Will you ever make more Fortnite props
I dont know
