That's a good point about people from an island going hard for success. My family is from the DR and you see it all the time with people from their community. Not just the baseball players. I think it's the ambition to see and succeed in a wider world that puts that fire in there.

something Joey said around the 28 min mark was something that I can identify with; my parents immigrated in the 1950s... it wasn't easy for them because they couldn't speak English and there wasn't exactly a lot of time to learn the language or practice it. Consequently I was/we were basically deracinated - in all but name.
