The interpretation of this verse is literally no man can confess Jesus is ,(GOD almighty,Jehovah) except by the Holy Spirit. That’s all it simply means , when u say Jesus is God, or Lord your acknowledging that he is Jehovah , along side the father who’s name is Jehovah revealed by the spirit who’s name is Jehovah , only by the Holy Spirit you can confess this and understand it.

No man can say that Jesus is Lord but by the Holy Ghost.

No man can say Jesus is Lord but by the Holy Ghost. With power and authority over the works of darkness! We know Paul but who are you?

“For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Saying “Jesus is Lord” is a spiritual gift , it is what will lead you to the other spiritual gifts. Noticing he is Lord is a gift , but some people deceivie themselves from false spirit, which is other than the original Spirit ( Holy spiritual) they have received (originally ) , so they are being lead right by saying “Jesus is lord” but they are not following through because they might be blind by false teachings , spirits , and gospels. These people could be their own false teacher by trying to justify sin. And you can see it in this passage when it uses “spirit” with a lowercase “s” and “Spirit” with an uppercase “S” Spirit of God

If the holy spirit is with you. You can distinguish b/w satan in the form of an angel and a heavenly angel.
And there is a simple test to distinguish b/w them just make them say Jesus is Lord.

Even some so-called Christians use the Lords name in vain but it’s not by the Holy Spirit, it’s influenced by the devil as he influences all sin. No one can (truly) seek after Jesus and than confess that Jesus Christ is their Lord but only by the Holy Spirt, but again everyone has the ability to lie but they’re influenced by the devil.

    2 Timothy 2:25

Your explanation of speaking is tongues is incorrect. You can speak in tongues by yourself while praying to God by yourself and not need an interpreter but if you do it while others are present then they will benefit from it when it is interpreted.

This is akin to the tree falling in an empty forest analogy. The purpose of the gift of speaking in tongues, to my understanding, is in the plurality of the body and is only edifying if it's understood. That part you have correct to my understanding but, the distinction about being alone with God outside the body is puzzling to me and I'd like some expository scripture for that idea if you could.

If you read Paul’s instructions and explanation of the purpose of speaking in tongues in 1 Corinthians 14 you will see he is telling them that you can speak mysteries to God alone or in church amongst others Paul was giving the reason he instructed them to desire prophecy above other spiritual gifts. Speaking in tongues is us communing with God, but prophecy is God speaking through us to man. In the church, we should seek to edify others, not ourselves. Prophecy edifies others, while speaking in tongues only edifies the person who is speaking (1 Corinthians 14:4).
Many people question what is accomplished by speaking in tongues. There are four verses in this chapter where Paul gave us insight on this. In this verse, Paul said we are speaking mysteries (see note 5 at this verse). In 1 Corinthians 14:4, Paul said we edify ourselves through speaking in tongues . 1 Corinthians 14:14 says the spirit is the part of us that prays in tongues and 1 Corinthians 14:17 says we are giving thanks unto God when we speak in tongues.
If you ever spoke in tongues you would understand why Paul said he did it more than any of them but when amongst others He would rather speak so they could be edified also.
Once I started speaking in tongues it has helped me tremendously with praying and to glorify God more than my English language can. And yes the Lord will interpret to me when I desire to know and ask but I’m pleased to know that He is glorified and praised without always knowing every detail. Hopefully this explains a little more about it. Thanks

@@guertinenterprises I appreciate your explanation. My question now is why you would speak mysteries to God.

    • @guertinenterprises
      @guertinenterprises ปีที่แล้ว +1

God understands everything we think or say. They are not mysteries to God but mysteries to us if I don’t have discernment or understanding of them.
Let me ask you a question without me assuming anything. Do you pray in tongues? Do you believe in the spiritual gifts that are mentioned in the New Testament? Do you believe they are also operating in some churches today? Does God use you specifically in any of those gifts?

@@guertinenterprises Thank you for your more expanded explanation but it still doesn't answer the question I asked. I asked why you are speaking mysteries to God. God understands all. Why are you having a conversation with Him that defies your understanding down to the language by yourself? If others understand and translate, that's ideal. I'm trying to ascertain the purpose of praying in tongues when YOU don't understand the conversation you're having.
I don't pray in tongues or use tongues. I don't believe it's a universal gift that works for everyone and I'm not certain if the modern Pentacostal (or otherwise) practice of tongues is actually in keeping with the phenomena that happened scripturally. I've researched the topic and gone to churches and experienced the current practice by other practitioners. I'm torn because if the miraculous practice was still occurring as it did Biblically in the church I support that. Do you believe the practice you are referring to is in fact the same as is Scripturally indicated? Speaking a foreign language unknown to the speaker but, known to other believers present?
