Nice! I don’t have any of the slim inserts yet either but I’m sure I’ll get there eventually as well haha. I didn’t show it in this video but really like the black insert that comes with the new copper.
the ziplight most of them dont work anymore cuz they used a none changeable battery thats corroded in most of them but theres a third party almost exacly the same called the flip light @@UncommonEDC
About 30 or so years ago Zippo produced what was a flashlight insert that they called Zip light. It unfortunately wasn't very popular so was a short lived item.
If you let the Zippo burn for 3-5secs, a lot of the petrol taste/smell burns off, if you want to avoid that on your stogie. Same with matches, to avoid the sulphur taste, let it burn down so all that stuff in the match head burns off.
Thanks for the tip! I did know that with matches but didn’t realize the same applied for the zippo fuel. I’ll definitely try that out. Thanks for taking a look!
I've only ever had one real Zippo lighter but I lost it years ago now, I'd like to get another one someday. I like the idea of having different inserts for different purposes, including a bit driver/safe thing; that's pretty cool. I really like the soft-flame butane one, though. I bet it would be nice for lighting cigars in a not so breezy environment, however. Thanks for sharing, take care and Cheers!
Another fun rabbit hole to go down haha, I have been really enjoying it and it isn’t too expensive if you are sticking to currently available models but can get pretty pricey if you get I. To historical models. Really excited about this insert though and my thoughts exactly on that soft flame butane. Thanks for taking a look! 👊🏼⚔️
Yeah, I follow them on IG and am subscribed to their email newsletter but found out about it through a FB ad so that’s weird haha. Very cool though! Thanks for taking a look!! 👊🏼⚔️
That's cool! Zippo should do more non lighter inserts for other things too. Like a mini handwarmer, or mosquito zapper, Lol! Some people might have zippos that were say their grandfathers, but don't use it, they could have a use for it.
Agreed, would love to see them continue to experiment with inserts. I think a pill or mint storage with an opening to pour one out at the top would be kind of cool too. And great point, the more reasons to carry your zippo the better. Thanks for watching!! 👊🏼🔥
Really cool insert! I haven't shopped Zippo directly in awhile. This I will go for!! Very exciting! I already use the torch insert mostly because I don't like the fuel taste. Appreciate you sharing this Jake! Take care! 🔥👍🏻
Not a fan of how you need to remove it to properly use it. Cool idea though. Been collecting zippos for over 15 years, don't think ill add this, but still neat. I'm a much bigger fan of the yellow flame butane cigar lighter insert
Yeah, it’s not ideal but I guess that’s why they market it as a safe rather than a driver. Then again you have to remove it to access the stored bits too. Definitely plan on grabbing the butane cigar lighter next, not sure why I started with the regular fuel version haha. Thanks for taking a look! 👊🏼🔥
@UncommonEDC We definitely have different taste, I am more into edc that will last a lifetime of hard use. I appreciate the art of it also, which is why I like your channel! I like functional art a lot, that's why I enjoy my titanium stuff! Really wish i could send you a pic of my dimpled ti zippo case I just colored by maratc. I like timeless things that can be passed down, I stay away from plastic as much as possible. Keep up the great work! Would love more hard use edc updates and more real world edc. The unboxings are cool, but maybe do a diy upgrade video to a Swiss tool, or knife! You have some beautiful knives, although I am scared to death to carry or use anything less of a axs lock for folding blades. Came to close to many times as a kid, but never the less, beautiful
I definitely have eclectic taste but appreciate both. And aww man, that zippo case sounds awesome, I didn’t know CountyComm made a zippo case but bummed I missed it. I like to anodize their titanium gear also. I definitely have some plans to do some other type of videos but my recording setup is mostly limited to tabletop for now so stuff like heat anodizing are out but do have a restoration project planned and can definitely do a Victorinox scale swap the next time I do one. Thanks for the feedback! 👊🏼👊🏼
Are you sure that whole insert is made in China? It only says China on the small plastic part but it still says USA on the metal part. I assume that means only that small plastic bottom piece is made in China.
They released the ziplight in the 90s. That's a torch insert as in a torch light
I heard after making this video, definitely plan to track one down. Thanks for the info. 👊🏼👊🏼
I'm a fellow collector. My insert display is only missing the ziplight and slim inserts. I have all the others
Nice! I don’t have any of the slim inserts yet either but I’m sure I’ll get there eventually as well haha. I didn’t show it in this video but really like the black insert that comes with the new copper.
I think Zippo made a flashlight insert in the mid 1990’s called the Ziplight.
Oh interesting, going to have to track one down. Thanks for the info!! 👊🏼🔦

@@alexilot Thanks for the info, just added one to my Amazon cart! 👊🏼👊🏼
I wish they had more insert options for slims.
Agreed, I don’t have a slim yet but one of the reasons is the options are so much more limited than with the standard size.

Thanks for the info, I’ve been thinking about trying to track one down but I know a lot of them no longer work unfortunately.

Zippo makes the best lighter!
Agreed! 👊🏼🔥
Had no idea they made the bit kit. Looks pretty cool!

@@UncommonEDC that would be cool for pills, or a flashlight insert, or hold perfume for women.
@@pueblodove Definitely a lot of cool options if they decide to continue to branch out this direction!
@@UncommonEDC I hope they do, it would be really neat!

Oh cool! That's pretty neat!
I think so too! Thanks for checking it out!! 👊🏼🔥
This finally lets me carry a zippo and actually have a use for it since I don’t smoke
Absolutely, I think that’s the coolest part of this insert! Thanks for taking a look!!
That's pretty cool! Great video 👍
Definitely a little different, appreciate you checking it out! 👊🏼⚔️
OK that’s pretty cool! 👍
Right! Pretty cool, glad to see them trying something new. Thanks for taking a look!! 👊🏼⚔️
The butane and arc inserts only have a 2 year guarantee. I suspect that's due to them being made by a third parry
That makes sense, same deal with this insert.
Mine came in last week. I was checking it out to potentially give as gifts but the the plastic spring for the case hinge turned me off.
Interesting, I hadn't noticed that until you pointed it out. We'll see how it holds up. Thanks for pointing that out.
Very cool brother! Thank you for sharing!
You bet, thanks for checking it out!! 👊🏼👊🏼
That's a nice Insert, maybe I'll pick it up :D
Agreed, definitely a cool alternative to the normal inserts. Thanks for taking a look! 👊🏼🔥

I have no way to be 100% certain but the listing for it on the Zippo website only says made in China.
@@UncommonEDC ah. Thanks for that info.
Rileys 66 has these for 15bucks
Nice! I’d imagine they’ll start popping up at more retailers soon.
