I am French and live in Paris. The first guy makes me laugh : "we are frightened during police check" which police check is he even talking about ? If you don't look suspicious and do nothing wrong, police never checks on you and if they do, just don't play stupid. The only people saying that are the people breaking stuff during protests
Yeah sure ... as long as you look white and you're a man, i've been the subject of a few police check since teenagehood, never commited a crime, never wore anything "suspicious" whatever that means? The first time i was quite litterally waiting for my classes to start in front of my highschool, just a 15 year old kid waiting on his phone in front of his highschool. Few girl friends of mine told me they were verbally harassed by policemen in the street and that doesn't surprise me at all, most of them are pigs, but you seem like the kind of man that only sees whatever fits his own idea of life.

@@charlie8458 ça fait plaisir d'être défendu, beaucoup de désinformation sur la police, on est des êtres humains comme tout le monde, l'erreur on connait aussi et il existe des cons partout, toute les formations du monde ne nous préparerons jamais assez lorsqu'on sera soumis à un gros stresse, et ça malheureusement, faut le vivre pour le comprendre, on agit dans un cadre répressif et non permissif, le moindre geste sortant du cadre peut nous couter très cher et parfois, on a qu'une demis seconde pour prendre la décision qui soit nous fera passer pour un héro, soit pour un criminel, et même si on sauve une vie et qu'on fait tout bien, y'aura toujours des personnes pour dire qu'on a mal agit. As a born and bred Parisian I don't know any women around me who gave the same answers or put shorts under their skirts or don't walk freely and comfortably in Paris. Cat calling does exist and is an issue but isn't a norm where all the women live in fear like implied here.
I'm English but in my experience living in France and having a French girlfriend, your compatriots tend to be much more militant about causes like feminism, insecurity etc than we are and tend to complain a lot or exaggerate issues. I think the UK is starting to become more like this too thanks to camera phones people now get the impression there is crime and violence everywhere, but in reality it is not much different than before just everything gets recorded now and diffused around the world.
If you ask any french about any problem they will all tell you they suffer fromthis problem !! Example, what do you think about health care ? Bad. Education ? Bad. Quality of food ? Bad. TV shows ? Bad. Service is Paris and Marseille ? Bad.
Hi yuan , nice to see your channel , im the total opposite of you , i am french and i live in asia since i'm 17 (china, hong kong , singapor and 1 year in japon) . Im 36 now....when i go back to france to be honest and i compare to asia , it wouldnt cross my mind to go back to france... Even china now the salary , infrastructure, hospital , subways , service , modernity basically anything is higher than france .... and for the topic of security , its probably the widest gap.....city here are so safe i never met a women that said im afraid to walk a 2am...... at the time , delinquent don't really exist so or not like the same type as french.
Thanks for your feedback and I’m glad you’re enjoying life in Asia. Safety issues in China exist in forms different than in Europe. In China, the most widespread delinquency is scam. It appears to be less serious because it’s non violent physically, but I would say a good percentage of the population has been affected by it just like theft in Paris. Societal issues also exist in forms that are much more mental than in Europe. Bullying and psychological manipulation are common in every walk of life. You might have felt it less than a native Chinese person. And that’s the reason why for me life quality in Paris is higher than in China, even given that I’m from a very “bobo” background in China.

Yes because it's the richs that got their belonging stolen so obviously there is more crime in those part. It doesn't mean that the rich are committing crimes. in France statistics about WHO commit a crime are forbiden to prevent people from becoming racist, wich is pretty paradoxal. It's very simple, the French justice system is very tolerant (too much so), the sentences handed down are never enforced to their maximum severity, so repeat offenders don't feel worried and start up again... and that's without counting the justice system for minors (

i lived here for 30 years, this is a big city it was always not safe. But nothing close to life threatening. But i do agree that in general the money put in public service in declining (cleaning, police, administration) so for sure the city is less safe and clean than before. But It was always a mess and will be. In general you need to take care for yourself in Paris. (And we are also not the type of people to apreciate thing, we tend to complain a lot in France, more so in Paris)
this happens everywhere even in small countries like slovakia... yk and they wonder why people are racist and discriminative to them but after these type of confrontations and incidents that round up trauma too it's obvious the victims will be angry and sad and word spreads fast so I don't see why this isn't a possible reason .
