“Lives in the hedge” 🤣 Nice collection. I have a couple of Stowaways and a mid 1970’s Trusty Folder made by the Viscount company in the Midlands. Great versatile bikes and loads of fun to ride.
Ace! Nice collection. Ive recently gotten into 20s off the back of an old Peugeot race bike ive done up. Got an elswick cosmopolitan and a hurcules compact so far.
Awesome collection. I never heard of this bike before. To my eye it appears to be a folder that doesn’t fold. I imagine the folks at Velo Orange were inspired by this bike in their Neutrino mini velo. Thanks for the insight. I’ll keep an eye out for these on my travels
What a super stable! I’ve had a few twenties over the years myself so I understand the affliction! My ‘nice’ one is a 7-speed (derailleur) with chrome forks, Moulton stem with bulk bars and super skinny 451 wheels /25mm primo champs. I brazed in a brake bridge on the chainstays like a moulton too which really cleaned up the back end lines. It’s a little roady rocket ;)
Nice ones! I am thinking of getting one, still available fairly cheap. I remember my mum having one, always seemed effortless to ride back then, probably not so much now with my adult weight!
I love the Sun! I just got one at auction, here in South Australia, for what you would call 10 quid. Exactly the same, except jet black. Original Brooks leather saddle, in lovely broken in condition and a 1976 hub. All looks original, but hard to believe Sun's were still manufactured AND exported that late. I will add that Adelaide has always been the most Anglophile city in Oz. Cheers.
Love the overland project, gears remind of a overdrive or high/low on a 4x4. Great collection, keep looking but not took the plunge yet, I do have a mint Dahon folder which fun but wobbly.
Love it! Some great bikes there fella! Great to know there’s a few weirdos just like me out there with a soft spot for these odd little bikes! More please!😁
26tpi not 24tpi. Within the last month I've acquired 5 of these lovely machines, including 2 stunning minters, a 1978 'Shopper' and a 1980 'Solitaire', the dark red metalic paint is gorgeous.
i just bought a 1981 Raleigh stowaway. i had to put knew Raleigh record tyres made in china on that say inflate to 55 psi maximum but they look as if they need to go up to 60/65 psi after i sit on the bike the back tyre bulgers out a fair bit. i weigh 13 stone and i just have a feeling i should inflate still more over 55 psi as is feels as if i really have to pedal with too much effort to get the bike up the slightest of gradient. with you having all those 20s what do you think i could try with the tyre pressure. could i get away with 65 when the tyre says 55 psi max. i appreciate your feedback thanks.

Anybody have a spare R20 front rack I could get for the wife’s shopping runs? Great vid, thanks
I'd like to see one of these put on a diet and tricked out in carbon
Jewel of the collection…….You mean the Jimmy Jewel ?…..🤣😂😘💩🌈
Are they good bikes to ride?
Yes... you'll probably have to fit a different saddle. I've done hundreds of miles on bikes like these... fun too.
Brompton breaks on the overlander?
