Ah brought back some happy memories of my Roadster I was bought around 1968. Very similar to first bike but all metallic red. Red whit saddle and white grips were the same. Thanks
We inherited one similar to the four speed, my daughter restored it. Has a three speed, but the same upside down lever. I guess it is supposed to go under the handlebar, where it looks a lot neater.
I love the Sun! I just got one at auction, here in South Australia, for what you would call 10 quid. Exactly the same, except jet black. Original Brooks leather saddle, in lovely broken in condition and a 1976 hub. All looks original, but hard to believe Sun's were still manufactured AND exported that late. I will add that Adelaide has always been the most Anglophile city in Oz. Cheers.
“Lives in the hedge” 🤣 Nice collection. I have a couple of Stowaways and a mid 1970’s Trusty Folder made by the Viscount company in the Midlands. Great versatile bikes and loads of fun to ride.
i just bought a 1981 Raleigh stowaway. i had to put knew Raleigh record tyres made in china on that say inflate to 55 psi maximum but they look as if they need to go up to 60/65 psi after i sit on the bike the back tyre bulgers out a fair bit. i weigh 13 stone and i just have a feeling i should inflate still more over 55 psi as is feels as if i really have to pedal with too much effort to get the bike up the slightest of gradient. with you having all those 20s what do you think i could try with the tyre pressure. could i get away with 65 when the tyre says 55 psi max. i appreciate your feedback thanks.
Ace! Nice collection. Ive recently gotten into 20s off the back of an old Peugeot race bike ive done up. Got an elswick cosmopolitan and a hurcules compact so far.
26tpi not 24tpi. Within the last month I've acquired 5 of these lovely machines, including 2 stunning minters, a 1978 'Shopper' and a 1980 'Solitaire', the dark red metalic paint is gorgeous.
Nice collection, you need a seventies Wayfarer in there I reckon! I love mine, a 1975 model retro fitted with a 1965 four speed FW hub, it often gets used for commuting.
I’ve got a 1970 Sun variant that’s caked in pure shite. I wouldn’t mind having a go at that three by 2 business. Can you give me any pointers regarding the cog configuration?
The middle one , Is pre-78 but post-73? I live in the Chicago area and I just acquired two folders that I believe to be mid 70s, they are the American versions with the 1.75 tire size, I’m having fun getting them sorted out and enjoying your channel, it’s helpful
Awesome collection. I never heard of this bike before. To my eye it appears to be a folder that doesn’t fold. I imagine the folks at Velo Orange were inspired by this bike in their Neutrino mini velo. Thanks for the insight. I’ll keep an eye out for these on my travels
Pleased I watched, was contemplating doing this to Howard* my nice green Twenty, but not if I'll loose my precious herony cranks. *Called Howard as that's what a notable Kingpinner addressed me as all ride on my first group ride...
My brother ruined a Honda 250 super dream with these Megaphone type exhausts back in the 1970s. They were so loud that you could hear him miles away. It turned what was a smooth, quiet, refined Japanese bike into a nasty pile of shite

Please tell me more.
My grandfather had that Sun . Originally had whitewalls I recall.
Love your bike content man, wish i could get this type of collection
You've got the handlebar cross brace and the front sprocket looks small
I started with 1 and now have 5.
I had one years ago I remember how flipping hard to pedal it was !!

Very nice. It looks like my old Harry Quinn. Same colour too. I had my frame built by Harry in 1974. I still ride it from time to time.
So, exactly which model is that Bianchi?

Good video 👍 nice collection there's something about the Raleigh twenty
I love that shite bike 😂👍
Thanks for the tour, mate. Gary from Georgetown, Ontario.
Looks like a great set up. What type of sprockets are you using? I'm assuming they aren't Sturmey Archer. Did you make your own sprocket carrier?
The sprockets are from a mtb cassette, modified to fit the standard SA driver
Brompton breaks on the overlander?
Tektro dual pivot long drop
Lovely
:D gets all enthusiastic about his not so shite collection of shite. Thx for the video !

An amazing collection. Thanks for sharing.
She’s a belter!
I'd like to see one of these put on a diet and tricked out in carbon
How did it turn out? Looking forward to a follow up vid. 👍
I enjoyed that, thanks 👍
Thanks for sharing.
Great video you are getting good at these 👍
Are they good bikes to ride?
Yes... you'll probably have to fit a different saddle. I've done hundreds of miles on bikes like these... fun too.
Great looking bikes, How to clean a badge without destroying it
That Palm Beach is a pretty thing, and the Sun was quite a find!
