Awesome!! Hmmmm yeah the crown is on the larger side but I haven't noticed it digging into my wrist at all but then again I do wear bracelets looser. Overall it's quite comfy so I say go for it!!
Yeah unfortunately it has already sold out😕 it originally came out on January 28th. However you can still find them on the secondary market! eBay has quite a few listings and I haven't checked the zelos Facebook group in a while but I'm sure there are some there too👍👍
Yeah it'll be at various levels of inflation for sure but I'd say that the quality of the watch, especially the bracelet, is much more than even the regular price of $350. I guess it's a little silver lining? There is a slight chance that I'll sell mine at some point so I'll keep you in mind if you're actively looking for one 👍
my 2 cents, looking at they key components (I have the same watch in bronze): Case: appropriate for a $50-$100 watch. Mine looks like it came out of the mold with finishing only done to the lugs (and minimal at that). I'll make the argument that the unfinished texture can be appropriate for a bronze watch at this price point and may be a bonus for those that want patina. Dial: appropriate for a $2000 watch. Its beautiful and a strong selling point. Hands/indices: appropriate for a $1000 watch. I like the facets that you normally don't get at this price point (and great lume!) Movement: appropriate for a $300-$500 watch. Mine is +7 to +10, so no complaints. Band: I have a lot of minor issues with this band. If it was steel, I'd probably say it was worth $50. But because of its innovation and uniqueness, $200 is reasonable. It has no competition to compare against. (more below) Yep, not my most expensive watch, but it gets a lot of wrist time because it looks so good (mine is teal/bronze). Just a note on Bronze - the bracelet is amazing being one of a kind, but has its flaws: screws have to be checked for tightness from factory, it has very sharp edges on the buckle (I filed mine down), the links look like 3 piece, but are one piece (it doesn't articulate that well) and those quick release pins tend to poke some people in the wrist. The bronze bracelet doesn't have as much faceting as the steel. It looks to me that the bronze case & bracelet have the same polishing, but honestly I didn't notice it much until I saw your review because patina trumps polishing, lol. The case looks like it came right out of the mold with those vertical "brushing" on the sides. Nothing precise on the corner finishing. It works fine for a $300 watch, just a lot different from a $1000 watch. Bottom line (other than the bracelet), there is nothing "wrong" with this watch. It doesn't have the finishing and attention to detail of a watch 3x as expensive and that is totally appropriate. The over all design and that gorgeous dial make it a real winner for me.
Yeah I totally agree with your assessment! I had a bronze mako v1 when i first came out and yeah the finishing wasnt great but it definitely added to the the patina effect when it got going. But yes the dial is by far the biggest star of this watch. every time I wear it and see it in different lights it just astonishes me that its on a 270 dollar watch. Its waaaayyyyy better than the tissot prx dial and I dont think that dial will ever get old! Also I love how well it wears on straps as well. Its extremely comfortable on rubber. I dont wear mine all too often, but I still love just looking at the dial and whenever I do wear it it just brings a huge smile to my face which is what this hobby is all about really😁 I'd love to experience a bronze swordfish at some point because I really do think the case design would look really cool when patina'd compared to the relatively simpler mako case. not to mention it would be awesome to see how the full bronze bracelet will look after getting some patina on it. Has your case and bracelet started to change a lot yet?
Actually just remembered that I originally found a speck of dust on the dial just to the left of the 4 o'clock marker. It then went away somehow. Then a about a week ago I spotted an even bigger speck of dust to the right of the 6 o'clock marker!! Hopefully your watch didn't have such issues
@@thewatchidiot It patinas pretty quickly (compared to my German bronze watch) - just a few days and its darkening. I waxed my watch to slow it down. That way it gets patina in the crevices (which this watch has in abundance) and a shiny rose gold on the parts that get rubbed naturally.
I understand the rant about the pros for quick release bracelets but they also have the fail points which equally have arguably more cons. Its not that hard to change a normal bracelet out in like 60 seconds. Love Zelos ❤️
Yeah if the watch has drilled lugs then taking out the bracelet is easy but for me a completely tool-less quick release bracelet is always going to be better because of how much i change between it and other straps. Yeah Zelos is definitely awesome!
Oooo the titanium ones are pretty awesome! Right now I'm on the fence about selling mine bc as cool as it looks it just isn't getting much wrist time at all! I wonder if I'll end up missing it the same way😂
That looks awesome! I just saw the Kermit version of it and its really tempting me. Love the size, look, and its got 20mm lugs. Hopefully it has a bilingual day wheel!😁
The Bronze version. I have a bronze pilot and always wanted something besides a black dial for it - so when this came out it was a natural. The bronze and teal are gorgeous together. My Seiko (turtle) isn't getting much love.
Just a heads up I'm now selling my Swordfish to bring in new pieces for the channel! Email me at thewatchidiot@gmail.com for more info
very good review. nice videography.
Thanks so much that means a lot to me coming from you! Love your channel you've got some awesome videos👍👍
Great video! At $270, it definitely is a bargain for that kind of finishing
Thanks!! Sometimes, I STILL cant believe that I paid less than $300 for it😂 It's the gift that keeps on giving
Can't go wrong with Zelos. I have the Mako V3 blue meteorite and the Hammerhead V3 vintage black, both are stunning. The price is hard to beat.
Zelos definitely has my attention!
Yeah Zelos is making some awesome watches for sure! still cant believe the price i got this for!
Actually I'm really leaning towards getting one but does the crown dig into your wrist? It looks like it juts out a lot
Awesome!! Hmmmm yeah the crown is on the larger side but I haven't noticed it digging into my wrist at all but then again I do wear bracelets looser. Overall it's quite comfy so I say go for it!!
@@thewatchidiot that's good, I wear bracelets looser as well. Thanks
No problem👍 let me know what you think if you end up getting one!
Didn’t this watch already sell out? When did this watch hit the market?
Yeah unfortunately it has already sold out😕 it originally came out on January 28th. However you can still find them on the secondary market! eBay has quite a few listings and I haven't checked the zelos Facebook group in a while but I'm sure there are some there too👍👍
@@thewatchidiot Yeah, but at an inflated price! 😭

It's back in stock
$329 now though ...I think
I would love to see you review the new Spearfish. Seems like a very interesting timepiece and a different take from this company

@@thewatchidiot Now you have me wondering - which watch in your collection gets the most wrist time?
@Charles Hailey oh nice I never knew about the waxing technique! That contrasting will definitely give the watch a really cool look

I had the 42mm TI swordfish in teal. I got rid of it as it wasn’t really my style at the time, but I miss it like an old girlfriend.

Where is your $300 for a watch going??
For me it's either going to be Seiko or Citizen although this does look really cool
Can't go wrong with those! I just relatively recently discovered Citizen (quartz promaster diver) and my god it's just too much fun😁
@@thewatchidiot that's a good one, check out the ny0085 it's a mechanical version of it with a coke bezel. Love wearing mine

Titanium watches need hardness coating... It should be standard or just give me the steel.... Please.
looks a tad small, not much and you have a big wrist. 42mm makes more sense.
