I found you HAVE TO USE the supplied cable or at least a USB to USB-C cable. I originally tried a USB-C to USB-C on my Mac and although I could get it to connect and download, it always failed to update. I switched the cable and it worked.
my DJI assistant wont recognise my Ronin-S! I've tried everything.. with a camera on it, without, just the handle on, the whole unit on.. and I'm using the provided cable... I have also reinstalled the app but nothing! Any thoughts? I can't get passed the 2:06 point basically.. and my Ronin app on my phone says N/A under the firmware version :/
John Ferrier I tried that too but it didn’t work for me.. I contacted DJI support to see if they can help.. will post an update here if I find a solution

Also, it shouldn't matter but, are you plugged into a USB 3.0 plug or higher? Maybe a 2.0 doesn't have the communication parameters it needs. I doubt that's true but, it's all I can think of, since they use a USB 3 connection type (C) on the Ronin.
I see it got cut off, it's just below the release notes, at 1:20, open the same screen as me and just scroll down a bit, you will be looking for "DJI Pro Assistant For Ronin v2.0.2" click on the MAC or Windows version.
hi how are you , i recently got the ronin s, used it for a few weeks it was working properly but now the joystick and front button are not responding,, when i connect to the app on my phone its saying 0% battery even when its full and i cant seem to perform the auto tune process with my phone , i have tried to upgrade the firmware but its saying device not connected , please help
I heard it's best to upgrade to the most current firmware from where you currently are and then work your way up to the most current. In other words, don't just go right to the top update. Any truth to that? Thanks!
Just tested it with Sony A7R III and it works fine, but had to change Sony's Auto Function for USB connection type from AUTO to PC Remote, Also I've tested it with Panasonic and it works fine, It's so nice to have a dedicated button on the Ronin to do start stop recording, love that feature.

That's good to know, always use Supplied cable.

I had this trouble too. Apparently, it has to be fully balanced or it won't do the update and the ONLY have the grip on. Found that in a forum.

HI. I changed my USB - USB-c cable and managed to update the firmware. I didn't get it with the original cable. I think he's in trouble.

Extremely nervous …. FAILED on USB2 port … SUCCESS on USB3 … (for my PC Windows Build).
That's good. Was this the direct port on Mobo?

the version for mac wont open because the mac doesnt know if it has malware so what can be done to solve this issue

Sorry, I've never seen that, have you contacted DJI. As long as you did everything in order.
After updating, I looked at the firmware on the app and it shows up as N/A ??

Definitely, if it ain't broke don't fix it, don't upgrade just to upgrade, only upgrade when you need some of those features,
