    Almost to the end of my first year off grid. Every month I've been buying "extra" canned goods, made my first loaf of bread today and made pulled pork sandwiches with pork I harvested this summer. Best feeling the the world.

    That's a wonderful way to put food on the pantry shelves, cheaply. Awesome tutorial, Janet!

    Sooo glad you did this. I asked home extension years ago about this and they said no. If you follow the canning directions it should work. Maybe a bit tougher texture but you get that with canning anyway. Thank you.

    Could this be done with frozen corn?

    When you try it can you let us know if it taste different please? I'm worried that pressure canning it for the 2nd time (first time at factory) would make it taste different or maybe a different texture (soft or mushy). I done the fruits and they did turn out softer but still taste good. I'm anxious to know lol... Thanks friend.

    I think for us, I would be more inclined to use frozen corn. Canned corn has already been processed (pressure canned) and it just seems like pressure canning it again would produce some pretty mushy corn. Would love to hear some feedback on this.

    I’ve never heard of re-canning canned food, interesting. Have you done this before?

    Can I recan number 10 cans of mushrooms

      Yes you can, 1/2 pints and pints are pressure canned for 45 minutes. There is no approved time for quarts. I would never need that many mushrooms at once but if you want to do quarts I would just add about 10 minutes.

  • @loucilehall9281

    Why are you pressure canning for 55 minutes when it’s already cooked? 25 minutes would be enough to seal

      @cindeeacker5415 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are canning not cooking.
      FDA recommends certain times for specific items.
