    It’s great that you noticed how quiet and captivated the audience was. There are actually times at some of his concerts where he’ll ask the audience to be quiet for parts of a song to add to the experience.

      I'm so use to playing in bars and clubs where nobody could care about the music. Haha

    Great reaction! This is from the Raven that refused to sing and other stories album. This live version is off the Get all that you deserve DVD that was released about 6 months before the studio version. You can listen to Raider II live off the same dvd, it’s a 23 minute epic that I find hard to listen to the studio version, but the live performance brings the song to another level.

      Thank you Charles, the reactions are a piece of cake when the music is epic but I do appreciate it. I just can't get over how awesome Steven's music is. It is exactly 💯 in my wheel house. I like all kind of music but I really like music that challenges me in different ways.

      @@MusicWithToddLedbetter It’s fun to see people discovering a band you have loved for years. I’m very lucky to have heard of Porcupine Tree for the first time in 1997. I’ve seen them (and Steven) several times live and have bought each album on release day, or close to it. I’m even a bigger fan of a band called Marillion that you might have heard about. Cheers and keep discovering the SW universe!

      @@charlesgingras5202 Yes, I have heard of Marillion but again, never took the time to really get into them. If there is one good thing about doing reactions, I helps me get into music i have over looked for way to long.

      Oh yeah. Raider II live is so awesome. It's from my favorite Steven Wilson album Grace For Drowning. Though The Raven Thar Refused To Sing is so amazing. I enjoyed this reaction very much and the middle section is so beautiful.

    Really enjoyed this reaction Todd, as I said on your very first reaction of PT, Wilson is a genius, this video shows him composing the band.. everything about it was perfect! “Remainder of the black dog” from the same show is also a belter 😁 hatesong “live “ from PT is also a must watch 😉👍

    Hey Todd, just watching back this reaction again, you should check out his live video of “the watchmaker” it’s just as good as this one. I would say that though yeh! 😉

    One of my all time favs by Steven! Nick Beggs the bassist is an absolute legend with ties to some pop music back in the day, but also has his own prog band called The Mute Gods which is a "must get round to" band you should have on your list! Hard to even choose a song to suggest they are all so different but great, I would say start with the first album consecutively. Good luck with your soon-to-be infinite list of masterpieces that you will never be able to complete :D that's just the way of music reactions, there is SO MUCH incredible music out there. On top of that I haven't even mentioned the glorious works of Marco Minneman who drums on this track. Good Luck with getting to as much as you can!

      Also this is one of the most satisfying basslines that isn't too hard to play. Give it a go! BaDaDa BaDaDa BaDaDa BUM! BaDaDa BaDaDa BaDaDa BUM! BaDaDa BaDaDa BaDaDa BUM! LOL sorry had to do it.

    The album this is from, The Raven that Refused to Sing, is Steven Wilson's purest progressive rock ode, I'd say. Definitely worth checking out the rest of the album.
    The lineup here is pretty crazy: Marco Minnemann on drums, Nick Beggs on bass and backup vocals, Adam Holzman on keyboard, and Guthrie Govan on guitar. Guthrie can be credited for the amazing solos heard both on this album and on Hand Cannot Erase. Steven Wilson is a great player himself, but the solos from these two albums are the best of his discography thanks to Guthrie.

    • @RanchElder
      @RanchElder 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Though for this live performance in particular Guthrie was absent, he's emphatically present on the albums.

      @@gingernuts1967 Thanks! I was wondering who it was as it clearly wasn't Guthrie Govan or Dave Kilminster. And yes, he's superb. I'd like to hear his take on the Drive Home solo.
