Knowing a lot of this intellectually but needing to catch up emotionally I have this far modeled so many " wrong" ways of interacting for my children. My highest hope is that in my lifetime I can evolve enough to model much better ways of being and interacting for them, and be of some good support by the time they are in their adult life.

So if I'm " out there" then I can at least say that so is the famous " Alanis Morsette" and famous " writers" Lmao!! Thank you so much for your service Alanis and all who try to keep this information out for the public!

Ideally we could have a society that taught this rather than what it is teaching now covertly and overtly ( if used right words meaning directly and indirectly ) I love what you did with the video to song, " All underneath" because I believe for us to save our earth we do need to save our hearts. 👍👍 Part 3 later. I hope there are more comments somewhere on Utube or on your sight. A few very ridiculous comments on here.

Alanis so much of what you describe as yourself, I relate to on a very deep level, and agree with, and did so much of the same. I paused and am only at the part of the podcast of what can an average person do who..and curiously listening. I write this because good professionals cost good money. For these kinds of reasons changing my whole life in an attempt to keep finding appropriate circles if people for me in area's of my life I can control. Ready to give up everything and live in a shelter just to give a better way of living a chance ( in ways of witch your speaking). My husband is definitely narcissistic ( possibly worse) ( has been abusive on a regular) and I don't say that jokingly, and the more empathy and active listening I did the more drained I became. I tried exposing him to this kind of information and of course he says their is something wrong with me that I would even listen to anything like this or read the books I've read. Lol. not funny

Alanis, you are so cool! Have a feeling if we ever met in real life we'd be kindred friends. I'm also an artist (although pretty invisitble and unknown) and hold and have always held a profound desire to understand life, love, God, the universe, connections and relating. You're a great interviewer. Blessings, Love and Light.

Morrisette's openess/honesty about her healing journey is admirable. However she's clearly a borderline personality. I've never heard her admit to that. I can smell them from a mile away. They have no governing ego so it leaves them wide open to spirit which is a spectacular quality. She does talk at length about growing up in a narcissistic context. That's how it happens - their boundaries are constantly invaded so they never develop a sense of self. They need to be reparented from scratch. Marilyn Monroe is a classic example. I think it would be the greatest selling point for Imago if it could help heal the BL personality. I'd like to hear her talk about that.

Hi. Does the fact I am pausing to ask a question mean I'm not actively listening? Lol

  • @kimberlyhuffman2167

Want to say I probably should not have written anything negative about son's father and husband. And to say anything more would be more negative. Wow I agree with so much of what they are saying. I think this is great stuff. I have not met many people who feel that way., therefore feel something must be wrong with me.

This is a terrific interview if you want to get to know Alanis. Terrible if you want to learn about Imago from the founders. She does gush about the profound effect Imago has had on her life which is great, but Morissette is the last person on earth who should be interviewing anybody. She doesn't stop talking long enough to listen to anybody, far less wait long enough for anyone to answer the questions she asks. She should keep her day job. My sympathies to her partner. Jesus Christ. That's not a marriage. That's an affliction.

Oh Alanis, while I enjoy your music and will forever wish you well, these conversations put me in mind of a person who, when offered a slice of toast, sits down to consider for an hour the true purpose of the toasting process and how it impacts on their world view vis a vis farming and wheat price impacts on developing economies and the ecology of field mice.

Am I alone in finding the part about judging their childrens' choice of partners and analyzing them and their chosen partners (that they were bringing into the home, which can be stressful enough as it is) through the "Imago" lens as cringe? And then talking about it so casually as though there are no boundaries or nuances in any of that. I respect a lot of what I've read and heard by these guests, but that seemed to reveal, at least in my opinion, a major blindspot.
